…lives in the thorn

Sharing a just because card I made for a crafty friend featuring the super sweet Teeny Tiny Townie with a Bouquet from Stamping Bella.

My friend is going through a bit of a rough patch and when I looked at the mood board over at Double D I thought a bouquet of flowers was just what she needed.  As she’s in the US I thought maybe a virtual one on a card would brighten her day almost as much.  Luckily, this stamp only arrived in the mail last week so I actually remembered I had it and could find it and I thought it fitted the inspiration perfectly.  I picked up the pink from the roses in the mood board too and also some of the greens in my cardstock mat.  I decided to colour around the image a little to give a bit of a soft shadow in a nod to the lamp in one of the pictures on the mood board as I couldn’t work one into my card, although it would have been grand if I could as I love street lamps!

My image is watercoloured so I could also play along at My Time To Craft.  I think watercolour worked better than Copics for this image too and did the colouring sans lines to add to the soft feel.

With an image this pretty there really wasn’t any need for anything colourful on the background so I just left it white and matted on some coloured cardstock.  Which means I’m also able to link up at Sparkles where it’s no patterned paper allowed.  I added in a sentiment with a fab chippie from Make it Crafty that I coloured in the same grey as the soft shadow.  A few gems in light grey and my card was done.
