Nibble, nibble, gnaw who is nibbling at my little house?

This is my last Halloween card for this year and it features the fun new image, Elisabete Spider Witch, part of the fab Halloween Gals collection from Simply B Stamps.

To make up my card I’ve followed the current sketch over at Cheerful Sketches, I just swapped out the circle element for some cobwebs and made the left rectangle a bit larger to accommodate my image.  I managed to raid my scrap drawer for all of the papers on this card too and stuck to traditional Halloween colours.

Being a Halloween card, the best holiday in the year, I am also entering this in the current challenge at Die Cut Diva’s.  I cut my cobweb die twice to create my circle element so I’ve got their die cut element covered.  Given my image is of a witch I think this card definitely qualifies for a fantasy theme so I am also linking it up at C.R.A.F.T. for their current challenge.

Now shade on two pale cheeks...

There’s a sassy new image over at Simply B Stamps she’s called, appropriately, Kiss It Betty.

I thought I’d turn her into a slightly cheeky (pardon the pun!) Valentine card with some hearts and bling.  Either that or it could be a very sweetly presented message to go jump.

To make up my card I’ve followed the current sketch at Sketch n’ Dies, love playing along with their sketches.  I flipped it over as I needed an upright rectangle to place Kiss It Betty on.  I’ve got several die cuts on this too framing Betty and the other rectangular element as well as the heart I used to frame my sentiment.

The dies qualify me over at Die Cut Diva’s too and I’ve got their other theme covered with my heart and bling embellies, a girl’s gotta have some sparkle especially one that’s as sassy as this lady.  Featuring an image of a girl  and being coloured with my trusty Copics means that I am also linking this up at the current Copic Marker Spain challenge.

Want to win this digi?  Just leave me a comment by Monday night (on US PST Monday) and she could be yours.  Betty will announce the winners with the next Tursday solo release.  Yes, winners, so head over to the SBS blog, leave a comment there and then on to all the DT blogs and leave them all some love.  Theres one of these cuties to be won at each blog to a randomly drawn commenter.

Be not sick too late, nor well too soon

I have the honour of being a guest DT  at Through the Purple Haze challenge this month and today is my first post for this week’s anything goes challenge featuring an image from the sponsor Lacy Sunshine’s Sadie.

Now did you think that I didn’t colour up Sadie?  Surely not, for that wouldn’t have been much fun and this is definitely a fun card.  All it takes is to pull gently on the handle on the top to give Sadie back her colour.

Pretty clever, isn’t it?

I followed a tutorial from Keren of Altered Ego; Keren has been kind enough to post up tutorials and patterns for a range of fab card designs.  Go check out her blog and her great take on this secret slider card.

To make up my card I took some inspiration from Die Cut Diva’s where they have an inspirational photo posted as their challenge theme.  Being an Aussie myself the colours of the rosellas and bush were very familiar and worked well for a get well card.

I’ve used my favourite embellies, flowers, to make up my card.  Lovely sunny coloured ones to help brighten someone’s day who is feeling, well, off colour.  With my flowers I am entering my card in the current challenges at Allsorts and Sweet Stampin’ (got the stamp part covered too).

Hopefully my card has inspired you to try something a bit different, even if it is just a different type of card like mine.  If so, why not join in the fun over at Through the Purple Haze.  The current challenge will run for a week and, as always, there are some lovely prizes on offer.

We are not always what we seem, and hardly ever what we dream

Today I have a beautiful new image from Simply B Stamps’ Steampunk range, Lady Amalthea.

With the big crescent moon I just had to go with silver tones on this card and the great sketch at the Friday Sketch blog provided the perfect frame for Lady Amalthea.  And while this is a Steampunk project, it is also lovely and girly and with Lady Amalthea dressed in her finest and out at night I’ve got the current theme at Die Cut Diva’s covered, not to mention the die cuts with my Spellbinders.  Love how they do the embossed edge and perfect layering.

I decided to take a trip with Desert Island Crafters to help decorate this project, I couldn’t get all 10 items on the itinerary on here but I did get birthday, embossing (helped add to the vintage feel along with my distressing), ribbon or twine (does lace count? it worked better on the vintage feel than any of my myriad ribbons), some sparkle (hard to see on the photo but there’s a lovely sparkly shimmer to the background of the image thanks to some metallic chalks), and three different embellies (brads, metal embellies, lace).  I only managed two patterned papers unless one counts the patterning I did myself for the background to my image so I’m not counting that one.

The stamped sentiment is why I use digis so much; I am a shocker stamper hence the rather fuzzy ‘birthday’!  It would also have been good if the ‘wishes’ sticker was printed in grey but my stash is only so deep.
