…the other only colour

Sharing a card featuring a stunning stamp from the Let’s Shake Our Tail Feathers set by Picket Fence Studios.

I chose this stamp so I could play along in the current the eyes have it challenge at Country View.  I know there’s no face or optical eye on my card but the patterns on peacock feathers are known as and, indeed, are some of the prettiest eyes you will ever see.

I embossed the stamp to let me enter The Paper Player’s challenge.  The gold embossing really suits this image.

To add in my colours on the feathers I dusted on some of Stampin’ Up!’s Pigment Sprinkles.  I think the colours worked beautifully and they also match with those from the inspiration photo at Sunday Stamps.  The eyepopping colours work really well with the border of black, also one of the featured colours in the inspiration photo, and the overall effect really is bright and bold.

I combined one of the sentiments from the same Picket Fence Studios set with part of a Penny Black sentiment (the it’s your birthday) embossed in the same gold on a scrap of black cardstock.  Really happy with how this turned out and it’s actually early for a March birthday so yay for me!
