Sharing a card
today made for a friend’s birthday.
I’d not seen this
card design until a crafty friend sent me a photo and a link to a YouTube video
by Dawn Lewis. I thought it would make a
fun card to mark a milestone birthday.
To decorate my card,
I’ve spun the Butterfly Wheel at Butterfly Challenge and actually used a number
of the elements. I’ve used all three
colours, my card base is cream, my designer paper is crimson and my butterflies
and sentiment are in cornflower blue.
Only managed one of the other elements, some corners to frame my
sentiment.
I haven’t done
anything so fussy and fancy in a while but decided to load up this card so I could
play in the current challenge at Fussy & Fancy, which is, rather appropriately,
fussy and fancy. To add to the fanciness,
I’ve added in some flat backed pearls and splashed loads of Fran-tage on the
butterflies and around my sentiment.
Over at Crafting by Designs they are looking for things with wings, which I have plenty of. I kinda went a bit OTT with my butterflies, I
had so many gorgeous butterfly dies, most of them NBUS, that I couldn’t stop
cutting and adding them to my card!
