…a little nonsense now and then is pleasant

I’m sharing a pair of rather corny Easter gift cards today, the first features the cute Rabbit die from Cottage Cutz.

The gift cards have been made with some of the fabby elements in the Aunty Vera’s March Hippity Hoppity kit.  Super excited to be guesting for Aunty Vera and playing with the fun kit contents.

As soon as I saw the Cottage Cutz die I thought of that old Easter joke that’s been doing the rounds of the internet for years so I made a pair of gold bunnies (yep, I’m a Lindt girl!) and did up a gift card featuring the nibbled bunnies.  With my bunnies I am entering this one over at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies where their theme is always anything goes with a critter.

For my second card I used another Easter motif, the egg, this time a piece of ephemera from the Echo Park Hello Easter Icons pack featuring a row of them.  The punch line is on the inside of the card where I used the egg stamp from the Neat & Tangled Eggstra Special set to create my cracked chockie egg.

At As You Like It they want to know if you prefer to make single or multiple layered cards.  Both these cards feature multiple layers, which has to be my favourite way of making cards.  Even where I do a CAS cards there’s pretty much always layers of matting.  Why?  Because I love the look of borders of colour framing my top layer and I also really love the weight in a handmade card; I think that really sets them apart from the store-bought ones that usually are pretty light and flimsy.

I’m also entering my eggy card in the current Easter challenge at Creative Shopping.
