A cocktail is lots more naughty

Sharing a card for my niece featuring Mochi Party Girl from Stamping Bella.

Can’t quite believe my niece is 19 already but means that she’s off the ‘present’ list and on the ‘my shout for a drink’ list, making me feel very old indeed!

I’m playing along at Fusion where I’m working the fusion, I’ve followed their sketch for my layout and also got fruit on my card.  I went with the lemon slice, a stamp from the Lemon Zest set by Stampin’ Up!, on the rectangle element to match one of the Mochi Girl’s drinks.  Not sure it shows up in the photo at all but I ringed her glass and edged the black cardstock in Rock Candy glitter to resemble the sugar rim of a lemon drop martini, which I’m thinking is the naughty cocktail Mochi Girl is drinking.  And, yep, you guessed it, my niece is a beautiful red head.

I’ve also taken inspiration from The Card Concept and their Dog Days of Summer photo.  The lovely bright colours of the photo had me riffling through my paper stash to find the rainbow glitter paper and the coloured Bling on a Roll.

With my blingy embellies I am also linking up at Dream Valley going with the gem half of their current theme.

The Eden I never saw...

Sharing a CAS card featuring some of the stamps from the Sea & Sky set by Hero Arts.

I’m playing along at AAA Cards where their prompt of along the edge inspired my card design.  I’m also rocking their optional twist of the beach, albeit a very long thin one.

With my beachy theme and sentiment, I’m linking up my card at Just Us Girls for their travel themed word week.  I’m sure plenty of us are dreaming of being able to hop a plane and go on a trip to a tropical beach and put all of 2020 and the current situation well and truly behind us.

Given this is an uber CAS card I’m also entering it over at Make My Monday for their current clean and simple challenge.

…but in this solemn darkness…

Sharing a card featuring the gorgeous Botan Peony from Picket Fence Studios.

Now this is a big stamp but I wanted to play along with some of the awesome CAS challenges out there so I left part of the stamp off my paper when I stamped it up.  But I still managed to not do my measurements right so my stamped element ended a wee bit big and hanging over the right edge of the card when I placed all my elements to follow the sketch at CAS on Friday.

And I deliberately kept the peony down in the left-hand corner so I could play along at AAA Cards.  It’s why my sentiment is off from the placement in the sketch although still down the bottom, just more lefty than righty.  I’m also rocking the optional element from AAA Cards as I masked off my white layer to add in the silver stripe in the same embossing powder I used for my image and sentiment.

I’m also playing along at Festive Friday where they are celebrating National Simplicity Day.  Of course, that provided one of the many prompts to choose from being CAS, which I’ve got covered.  I’ve also used a single image, geometric shapes (lots of squares and rectangles on my card) and a floral theme.

I added in a sentiment from the Penny Black Sprinkles and Smiles set that I thought worked really well on a card headed to a friend I haven’t seen since iso started.  We’re in the midst of planning our first nuncheon since restrictions have eased and getting to sip tea, eat cake and chat with a dear friend like her really is bringing on the happy!
