…a phenomenon undoubtedly made necessary by the 30-year mortgage

Sharing a card featuring a few of the images in the  From my Window set from MMedel Illustrations.

The set comes with six images but I’ve only used three, one complete and two I cropped to fit the elements of the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches I’ve followed for my layout.  I think they fit with the sentiment I created on my computer and really work for the current situation.

Although I’ve recently rediscovered my love for my Copics I pulled out my Distress Inks for this as I wanted to play along at Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.  Edna’s challenging us to go inky, apparently the sisters were a bit surprised when Edna showed up having permanently inked parts of herself other than her fingers.  Meanwhile I did always think Edna was covering up a bunch of badass tatts with some Thin Lizzy!

I haven’t been completely badass on the sentiment though, although apologies to those who don’t like to curse, as this was for my manager.  He’s not one to curse much himself but, like a lot of polite society, all this social isolation has led him to swear more in the last three months than I’ve heard him swear in the 10 years I’ve known him.

Not only did I water colour, i.e. ink up, my images but I’ve also inked the background made from a piece of water colour paper.  After smooching some Pumice Stone onto an acrylic block I smudged it around the paper.  I think it gave a good concrete effect and means I’m also rocking the optional twist at Mix It Up.  After the ink treatment I ran the paper through my Crossover using Tim’s Bricked Texture Fade embossing folder.

I love how this card came together, even if it took me a week longer than it should have to get done.  Together with some pantry staples it made for the perfect ‘congrats on your new apartment’ card and my manager loved it all.  Hopefully it makes his partner smile too, WFH is starting to wear thin even with the frustration… I mean excitement of moving to break the monotony.
