...nerdiness the reverse

Sharing a card featuring the now retired Anya Nerds Out from The Greeting Farm.

This card is going to one of my staff for her birthday and the stamp was bought especially for it.  As soon as I saw it, I thought of my staff member, Anya looks just like her, well, OK, no, she doesn’t wear leg warmers but the rest is spot on!

The layout of my card follows the sketch over at TGIF.  I did shift the placement of the sentiment off to the left though, just so I didn’t cover up Anya’s feet as it looked a bit weird when I paced the sentiment box over them.  The sentiment is from the Uniquely Creative All Occasions set.  I also thought the sentiments on the Kaisercraft paper really worked for my staff member, she reads widely and likes to take inspiration from what she reads.

The sketch was perfect for adding a border or two so I could also play along at Creative Knockouts.  I’ve created mine on the cardstock I stamped my image on using all three of the dies in the Mama Elephant Fine Trimmings set.

Over at CraftyFriends they want to see projects for ladies or girls, which my card certainly is.  So, I am also linking it up there.

Merry ChristCAS

So I’ve left my cards to the eleventh hour and needed to make a stack for colleagues.  The answer was to keep it CAS so I raided my rubber stamps and found this gorgeous one from The Greeting Farm called  A Cheeky Christmas.

I’ve stamped her with clear embossing ink and then used Fran-tage embossing enamel to add some interest.  I toyed with adding a sentiment to the front but liked the simplicity of just the image so instead I printed a sentiment for the inside and added some more Fran-tage for a border.

Now the current challenge at The Greeting Farm is ‘Christmas wish’ and I really wish I’d started my Christmas cards before 21 December or else that someone would make them for me!  Not sure if that’s what the theme was really about but it’s my Christmas wish, given I was so late last year I didn’t make or send any cards at all!  The current challenge at Sweet Stampin’ is white and one other colour, which I qualify for (well, sort of, I have two if you count the inside) so I’m also entering this card there.

Farming thanks

Continuing on with my thank you cards and fabric colouring here are a couple I did using The Greeting Farm stamps.

The first one features Glimmer Bean.

Colours I used were:
Hair BG01, BG05, BG09
Skin E00, E02, E11, E13
Dress B00, B02, B05
Hearts R22, R24, R37

To help Glimmer, well, glimmer, I added some Smooch Glitz to the highlights in her hair and went to town with glass glitter on the background.  I finished off the card with some Smooch Glitz gold accents, cut a Nestie banner and stamped on my sentiment.

I used Flirty Anya on the second one.

Colours I used were:
Hair RV02, RV04, RV06
Skin E00, E02, E11, E13
Dress B00, B02, B05
Flower Y08

Smooch Glitz again added some sparkle to her hair and also to the flower.  I inked around her to finish off the background and used a Nestie label, which I inked around the edges of stamping on the sentiment.  I used a rhinestone brad to attach the label for a bit of extra bling.

The final one features Stella.

Colours I used were:
Hair E21, E31, E33, E35, E57
Skin E50, E51, E53, E55 E93 (cheeks)
Dress R22, R24, R27, R59

I used glass glitter for the background again along with my favourite Smooch Glitz in her hair and for the hearts on her necklace and the envelope.  I used the same Nestie as with Anya and a rhinestone heart for some bling and to match the envelope Stella's holding.
