Sharing a sweet
first birthday card I made for a colleague’s daughter featuring a cute unicorn
from the Uniquely Creative Stay Unique set.
I’m playing along
with Fusion’s 5th Anniversary Challenge, I’ve used the sketch for my layout and
took the lovely rainbow colours and mostly purple background as inspiration for
my colours. So, I’ve actually taken the
fusion route, although with loads of shimmery goodness thrown in. Made my own rainbow paper and even made my
own mica spray to spritz it with. And how
awesome does that Make it Crafty chippie look in purple metallic embossing
powder?
Now I did swap
out some of the shapes in the sketch, just to make it my own and, well, so I could
use that awesome chippie frame. I have
the matching rectangle one but sadly it was too big for the stamp, which is a
real stamp so no upsizing in photoshop like with a digi. To match the stars on the frame I swapped out
the circle for a star, which I hand cut.
It would have looked better stacked but one was a trial and a half given
I couldn’t find my compass anywhere.
I die cut the 1
and embossed it to match the frame. With
all my embossing and the thickness of the chipboard frame I’ve got a few
dimensional elements on this card so I’m entering it in the current challenge
at Cardz 4 Galz; this card going out to a sweet little girl.
