Sharing a card I
made for a friend featuring a Saturated Canary image called Edgy Girl.
I have literally
thousands of digis so searching through them always turns up unexpected and
forgotten gems like this image. She
looks just like my friend and was perfect for her birthday card. I lightened the lines in PhotoShop so I could
colour her up no lines, which always makes the lips a real challenge. I’ve ended up making her look rather
melancholy but was afraid of ruining her by trying to fix the lips, which I did
last. But have to say still love how she
looks coloured up.
The layout for my
card follows the current sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch. I have made the hexagon a bit larger to fit
my image and used smaller round elements, as the BoBunny pearls were the
perfect denim colour to match.
I went with a
denim background and cut my sentiment from more of the fab Tim Holtz denim
because Edna is demanding some classic denim over at Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers. I haven’t played along over there in forever
and the denim was fitting as my friend teamed a black dress with a pair of
denim jeans (we’re talking about a mid-20s tom boy) the last time I saw
her. I just didn’t go snarky, mostly
because I just couldn’t think of anything snarky, I blame the stupid hours I’ve
been working lately for that!
