This is the third
Christmas card I’ve made on this wet and dreary weekend, featuring a cute image
from Glimps called Surprise.
The inspiration
for this card comes from Muse: Christmas Visions and the cute card by Cornelia Wenokor. I used the image appearing from
behind a design element, in my case flipping it sideways and having my elf
appearing from behind a ‘north pole’. I also
picked up the texture of Cornelia’s brickwork and added in some True Snow on my
pole, which I couldn’t help but make into a shaker.
With my image on the
‘edge’ as well I am also entering this into the E is for Edge challenge on at ABCChristmas. Even after adding my
sentiment I had lots of white space left but didn’t want to make my card too
fussy so I added in a few snowflakes. I stamped
these with embossing ink and sprinkled on clear embossing powder so they are
really subtle and are completely invisible in the photo! Over at Jingle Belles they
are looking for bling on your Christmas cards which gave me the idea of adding
a gem to the middle of each snowflake to help them stand out a bit more.
Apart from the practice
I need on my watercolouring I love this cute little elf; think I’ll be buying
more images from Glimps.
