…that take time to count up past mercies

Sharing another card featuring a new stamp, Pretty Peonies Background, from Simon Says Stamp!.

Over at C.R.A.F.T. Challenge they want to see thank you cards.  Luckily I needed a few so I could play along with this pretty floral one.  The thank you sentiment on it is from Uniquely Creative and their All Occasions stamp set.

My colour palette comes from Color Throwdown.  I picked up the orange in my flowers, including the resin embellie one.  The blue is in the background to my watercolour panel and one layer of my mats.  Finally, the grey comes in my mats and also in my embossing powder.

The layout is from the current sketch at The Paper Players.  I decided to set the middle panel into the background and added the plain mats over the top, popping them up on foam tape.  Love the depth and way it frames the pretty flowers.  I was going to keep this super CAS but ended up adding the resin flower embellie as the sentiment panel looked a bit bare.  I’ve had these resin flowers in my stash since the dawn of crafting so it was good to finally use one.  A touch of alcohol ink ensured it was the perfect colour for my card and I think it matches the stamped peonies beautifully.

Gratitude is born in hearts…

Sharing a card with a new stamp from The Ink Road from the Bella Flora Borders set.

I’m doing well with my NBUS, as this stamp set only arrived in the mail this week and it’s already seen some ink, aMAYzing!  But it was perfect for a bit of black and yellow action so I could play along at Dream Valley in their current challenge.  Love this colour combo, so striking and so happy!

For my layout I’ve followed the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  The simple clean lines worked well with the stamp set and allowed me to go a bit nuts with my layers of matting to show off that awesome colour combo even more.

Over at the AlphabetChallenge they want you to go either grunge or glitz.  As this thank you card is going out to a rather feminine woman I’ve gone with the glitz.  I swear it’s impossible to get glitter to show in a pic but the flowers are very much twinkling in real life, covered in a sparkly lick of Nuvo Aqua Shimmer.  I also used it on the fab chippie from Make it Crafty, which I think was actually itself a thank you from the ever-generous Zoe in one of my orders.  To further glitz it up I added a line of gems between the two border lines of the stamp and embossed the stamp for a glossy effect.

…the fairest blossom which springs from the soul

Sharing a card I made with my new Climbing Roses stamp from Stampin’ Up!.

I needed to make some thank you cards and this new stamp set arrived just in time especially when it was the perfect one for the current challenge at AAA Cards.  I’ve got the one corner and the optional twist of flowers covered off with this pretty little cluster of roses.  I decided to use embossing powder for the stamp outline to add a little sparkle to the card, given it was going to be mostly white space and to match in with the embossed sentiment.

For my colours I’ve gone with pretty and bright summery ones playing along at As You Like It.  When it comes to floral images, I prefer summer over winter colours, I just think they are so much happier, just like flowers make me feel.  So I picked a really bright pink and green from my Distress Inks and also added a nice bright purple mat under the watercolour paper.

They’ve got an easy anything goes challenge running at Aud Sentiments, I’ve got the always required sentiment covered too, so am linking up there.
