Weave a tangled web

Day five of the challenge with the instructions: “What a wicked Web we weave... use cobwebs and spiders on your projects, heck make a huge spider web if you want!”

For this one I picked Dark Fairy Brittany.

Copic colours I used were:
Hair BG01, BG05, C-5, C-7, 100
Eyes, top, belt and shoes BG10, BG11, BG15
Skin E00, E02, E11, E13 (E93 cheeks, R24 lips)
Dress BG01, BG02, BG05

No spiders on the tag because, well, I am one heck of an arachnophobia!  But I did go in for the webs, starting with a webby background drawn using Picket Fence distress marker.  Love how the white appears as if by magic when using this marker.  I also cut out Brittany’s wings to give them a webby look.  I actually enlarged them and made them separate to the rest of Brittany but I didn’t decide to do that until after I’d coloured her, which left me with black lines in my white outline.  Hence the blue Smooch outline to her, although I think it is a nice effect, even if it is hiding a mistake!

I added some Perfect Pearls to her wings, layered over two shades of blue Smooch.  I used Blue Patina over Nautical Navy Smooch for the top and bottom portion of her wings and Pewter over Pool Smooch for the central part.  I then added a layer of Glossy Accents to give her wings some shine.

I wanted to add rhinestones for eyes to the skulls in Brittany’s hair but I didn’t have any small enough so instead I added some highlight by painting them red with Smooch Siren.  I also used some gold paint for her belt buckle to give it the requisite metallic look.

I didn’t have a lot of space on the card so the only sentiment I had that fit was the small ‘trick or treat’ I used.  A bit of ribbon for the hanger and the tag was done.

Thanks for stopping by!
