I’ve had this
image, Merry Betty, from Simply B Stamps coloured since Christmas last year but
just never got around to getting her on a card.
I was so late with my Christmas presents for friends overseas that I was
embarrassed to send them in March so decided I’d send them for the traditional Australian Christmas in July. Well it’s
late June and I only just got the card done on the weekend and the gift in the
mail, nearly missed this one too!
I headed over to
the 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown site for some inspiration, the current
challenge was to use some pearls so I raided my trim stash for some pearl trim
and added some pearls to Betty’s hat to cover the spiders (not sure if the
Japanese friends this is heading too would appreciate a Steampunk type Christmas
card!). The layout is from the CTMH
cardmaking kit the papers are from, it’s good to have all the colouring
matching taken care of by professionals and the layout designs help too. I did make my card larger than the sample
though although when it came to paying postage today I did regret that choice!

ReplyDeleteLovely Card, I don't make cards myself, but I do have a blog for crafts in Paper Beads, but I love looking at the cards in blogs, this is amazing, thank you for sharing it, real inspiration :))
ReplyDeleteI think covering the spiders with the red pearls to make holly berries was a wise choice because I associate spiders with Halloween, not Christmas. :) The pearl ribbon border is really cool! Thanks for sharing your card in this week's challenge at 52{C}CT.
ReplyDeleteAmazing coloring - love the green hair! I think it sure would look different with a spider on there for sure - so good choice the holly :o)
