It’s challenge
time over at Simply Steampunk Challenges and our theme this month is “make your
own background”. For my project I’ve
used the gorgeous new Little Red from the Steampunk Fairy Tales and Myths collection at
Simply B Stamps.
Now I’ve take the challenge and made my own background paper as well as my own background scene for Little Red. The piece inside my tent card has been made using a stencil and embossing paste and embossing enamels. I’ve also added a piece of clear plastic, cut from some packaging, to the circle window onto which I’ve adhered my wolf. I used the same background piece for the bookmark on the front.
Yep, that’s a bookmark.
Here’s what the card looks like without the bookmark.
This time I made my own background for the image, taking the words to the Grimms’ fairy tale and printing them behind the outlined print of Little Red. The current challenge over at Digi Haven is to make a bookmark so I’m entering this over there.
To make up my
card I actually followed the current sketch at Sketch n’ Dies. I did flip the sketch so the vertical element
and banner were on the left and rather than a straight background I’ve added in
the circle to enable me to do my tent card.
Left of Center has
a die cuts challenge on at the moment, I’ve used not only my Nestie circles on
this but also a Papertrey Ink banner die for the bookmark as well as cutting my
wolf using my Cameo. With my transparent
piece supporting my wolf I’m also linking this over SanDee&amelie’s Steampunk Challenge. With my digi image used twice I am also entering this in the current challenge at Through the Purple Haze.
Now won’t you come
join our challenge too? All you need do
is go crazy with a sheet of blank paper to make your own background. Sure, you can add a designer paper like I
did but just one (yep, that’s all the one and same one) but we want to see your
very own designer paper using stamps, stencils, mists, chalks, inks, you name
it, just keep it Steampunk.
