My card today
features a fun new image from Simply B Stamps, Karen and Best Pal.
To make up my
card I followed the current sketch at Techno Stamper. I swapped out the star element for a winner’s
rosette to match my theme. That theme is
National Velvet, hence the purple and gold outfit (not quite jockey silks but
you’ve got to roll with the image) and the light and dark background (I think
of the movie in that way, there’s the lightness of Velvet’s belief in Pie and
their triumph against the background of the dark of Mi’s troubled past). I have to say I was struggling a bit as to
what to do with the image and so did what I always do and headed over to PaperPlayful to check out challenge themes, when I saw Incy Wincy Designs’ one about
the inspiration from a song, book or movie National Velvet popped into my
head. A spot of Googling to confirm the
right colours for the outfit and I was set.
