Like to a double cherry, seeming parted…

Sharing a birthday card featuring the gorgeous Uptown Zodiac Girl Gemini stamp from Stamping Bella.

The layout for my card follows the current sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch, I’ve just enlarged the circle element and shifted part of my sentiment up a bit.  The sketch elements also allowed me to indulge my love of matting.

For my colour scheme I googled for yellow colour palettes as the Gemini colour is yellow.  I water coloured my image, brining in colours from the card base to tie it together.  I also picked my orange designer paper to tie in with the image as it has pretty little flowers like the ones the twins are holding.  Love when I actually have stuff in my stash that ties together, well, OK so the paper is very new stash but was stash nonetheless.

With all my layers I didn’t need too many embellies other than the fabby chippies I used for the sentiment but I wanted to play along at Crafty Sentiments Designs so I added some bitty gems and pearls to the centres of the flowers.

Over at Shopping Our Stash they want to see your favourite things.  Well I have to say one of my all-time fav things are the chippies from Make it Crafty, I horde them but I also use them on cards whenever I can, they are simply awesome!  At a stretch you could say I’ve also got a die cut on this and while the particular die isn’t my fav, I couldn’t possibly pick one of those, dies are my absolute addiction.  I’m also very partial to the bitty gems and pearls, so bummed Close To My Heart discontinued them, theirs were the bomb!
