Sharing a super
CAS card featuring the awesomely quirky Oddball Gamer from Stamping Bella.
I’ve used the sketch
over at Sunday Stamps for the layout of this card. I layered up a couple of mats below my
watercolour cardstock top layer using one designer paper and one coloured
cardstock layer. To add in the
rectangular element I embossed a frame around my coloured image, although it’s
a bit hard to see in the photo. I then
added in the two accents lines with some embossing powder.
I went down the
embossing route, rather than a die cut frame, in order to play along at Less is More. And this card definitely is on the
less side, no fussy cutting, no die cuts, no embellies, just that fab image and
a bit of embossing. I think the
minimalist approach works though for a card heading out to my gamer teenage
nephew.
And, as this is a
male card, I am also linking it up over at Crafty Friends where they’re asking
you to do one of those more difficult male cards. Although, frankly, with these Oddball images
from Stamping Bella it really isn’t all that difficult to bring a bit of
handmade joy to the males in our lives!
This card is also
my DT project for the June challenge at Bizzy Bec’s. Our theme is always anything goes so it’s
super easy to enter and doing so gets you a chance at a die or stamp chosen by
Bec. Well worth the effort of linking
up, I say, so hope to see you over there.
