Sharing a male
birthday card featuring three of the stamps from the Wine Blueprint set by Tim Holtz.
Well, part of
three of the stamps because I’m playing along at Less is More, where they want
to see small images. Small being defined
at less than 2". Not sure if cropping
down larger ones counts but that’s what I did and I really love how it turned
out. The middle circle is 2", the
others are slightly smaller. Each of the
stamps were stamped in Antique Linen, except the wine glass, I did that in Tumbled
Glass, and then water coloured in more Distress Inks. A touch of white pencil for some highlights and
I’ve got to admit these are my fav water colourings of all time.
For the layout of
my card I’ve followed the current sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches, it gave
me those fab circles to play with and fit my small images into. It also went really well with the inspiration
photo over at Time Out. I’ve taken the
colours from there too and the old wood in the small bits of designer
paper. Picking up the colouring of the
signs in the picture I coloured my Make it Crafty chippie in Tumbled Glass and
mounted it on its shadow coloured in black.
Now male cards
aren’t always that easy to do but Tim sure does help with his stamps. This is going out to my manager who is a wine
lover so hopefully it will go down well.
Have to say, even if it is masculine in feel, I love the old ship rustic
look of it, even if I’m no wine fan myself!

I love the way you cropped these down. You can still see what they are but it's so dramatic! Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
ReplyDeleteYour watercoloring is lovely- those grapes! They look good enough to eat (or to press, lol). Fabulous job with the sketch. Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches!
ReplyDeleteThat's a very fun sketch to use and still leaves white space which we love at Less Is More! :) Fun way to crop down images too. Thank you for joining us at Less Is More!
