Sharing a CAS
birthday card featuring a pretty peony stamp from
Studio Katia called Blooming Bunch.
For my card I’ve
played both the sketch and inspiration picture from Fusion. My peony bunch is the round element on sketch
and I’ve used the monochromatic colours from the inspiration picture. I love how the white on black colouring
turned out. You can’t really tell in the
picture but the water colour I used has a lovely shimmer to it that makes the
image even more beautiful in real life. The
only bit that didn’t quite turn out is the layer of green I put over the white
on the leaves, numerous coats later and those leaves remained stubbornly white!
While I’ve kept
the palette limited, I added some interest by layering my black cardstock over
a silver mat and did the same with my sentiment strip. Layers are the topping over at Seize theBirthday so I’m rocking both the regular ‘anything goes’ and topping. Loving being able to do the double on two
different challenges, the inspiration challenges provide is exactly why I love playing
in them.
At Allsorts that
want you to say it in flowers. I seem to
want to say it in peonies all the time, but we won’t talk about this stamp
being NBUS from my trip to Tassie over Christmas (shout out to the two most
awesome real bricks and mortar, smell the fresh paper and alcohol inks craft shops in Australia, Bev’s Cross Crafts and Ashcrafts and Gifts!) or the
numerous other peony stamps I have in my stash.
Let’s just talk about peonies being such pretty, pretty flowers and the
fact their starring presence on my card means I can also link up my card in the
Allsorts’ challenge.

Beautiful design! I can imagine how shiny those florals would be, and it made more dramatic by being monochrome. Thank you so much for joining us at the Seize the Birthday challenge!
