Scarcely has night arrived to undeceive…

The last of my three cards I’m sharing tonight features images from the Haunted House set by Tim Holtz as well as backgrounds from his Skulls & Cobwebs set.

The layout of my card follows the current sketch at Sketch Saturday.  To create the four quadrants I stamped the background stamps in matching ink to my cardstock and embossed with clear embossing powder.  This gives a lovely tone on tone effect that also has texture and shine in real life.  I then added in the circle with a Spellbinders die and matted the scene I created in the circle on a second one from plain black.

I finished off my card with chippie details of the Hallowe’en setiment and witchs familiar.

Over at Paradise of Stamps they’re running a Hallowe’en challenge and I’ve created a fun Hallowe’en scene in watercolours.  Although now I see that when I finished this card off late last night I was clearly tired as I needed to rotate my scene just slightly so the tree wasn’t crooked!  I’m also linking my card up in the Hallowe’en challenge at Come and Get It.

It was a place shunned by the people…

Having fun making my Hallowe’en cards, this one features the house image from the Haunted set by Tim Holtz  as well as one of the dies from his Vintage Spirits Thinlits set.

To make up my card I’ve followed the current sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch.  I first made myself a mask with some circle dies and then stamped my image in ink and then embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I then added in the background colours of Distress Ink to create a night sky.  I went with shades of purple and added in some sequins for embellies to play along with the current board at the Tic Tac Toe challenge (I’ve used the middle row with the free square).

I decided to add in my sentiment using a die cut and the eclipse technique after seeing this featured at the TGIF challenge.  I like how it turned out, adding some extra interest to my fairly CAS card.
