Lovely weather for flying last night

I’m back from my big adventure and starting crafting again with Day 7 of the 13 Days of Halloween over at SBS and I’ve got the super cute Broomstick Betty from the Teen Scene Trick or Treat Teens on my card.

To make up my card I followed the current sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  The layers let me do my favourite double matting so I’ve used lots of black cardstock, also used it for my base and for the cute spider web die cut.  With all that black cardstock I’m also entering my card over at the current challenge at Creative Card Crew.

Die Cuttin’ Diva’s are running a colour challenge at the moment using purple, orange plus one other colour, so I went with green, the perfect colours for Halloween.  I’ve used them on my image and on the designer papers and embellies.  I’ve had the brooms in my stash for a couple of years, glad I finally remembered to put them on a witch card.

I think she turned out super cute, don’t you?

...and danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings

I’ve got a shape card to share today featuring the fun Trapeze Ariel from the Jude at the Circus collection from Simply B Stamps.

There’s so much movement to this image that I just didn’t want to stick Ariel on a boring square card so I went with a round one, following the current sketch at Die Cuttin’ Diva’s.  I think I’m pretty safe meeting their die cut requirement, pretty much every element of my card was die cut.

I wanted to give the impression of Ariel just hanging in the air so I fussy cut her and attached her trapeze to a piece of twine that looked like rope.  I also printed the great sentiment that comes with the image on a piece of paper with a grid pattern that looks to me like a net.

 

The current challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks calls for a shaped card so I am entering my card over there.  I’ve also got an image of a girl on my card so I’m linking this up at the current DL.ART Thankful Thursday challenge too.

Let me eat cake!

I had a birthday sneak up on me but fortunately I had coloured up this gorgeous image, Betty Antoinette, from Simply B Stamps when she first came out so all I had to do was pop her on a card.

My card follows the current sketch at Outlawz Challenge, I just resized it to fit my standard 6x6 card size.  The oval elements worked perfectly as I had already cut Betty Antoinette out using an oval Nestie.  I wanted purple gems for the smaller ovals but didn’t have any in my stash, I did find these CTMH metal embellies that have a motif similar to the French royal emblem of a fleur-de-lis and they were in blue to match Betty Antoinette’s hair so on they went.

With such a feminine image as Betty Antoinette and the sparkle and gold on my card it is definitely girlie so I’m entering it in the current challenge at Natalie and Amy’s Challenge.  I’ve also used something old, the CTMH embellies that have been in my stash for over six months, and something new, the Lindy’s Stamp Gang Starbust, filled and spritzed for the very first time.  And with my Nestie I’ve got a die cut so I’m also linking my card at Die Cuttin’ Diva’s current challenge.
