How beautifully dramatic!

My second card today features the stunning image, a revisited Frankenstein’s Bride Portrait by Abigail Larson and available at Simply B Stamps.

Just like my first card, this one features piecing together (quilting), which is this month’s theme over at Simply Steampunk Challenges.

I followed the current sketch over at Outlawz which was perfect for some paper piecing action.  I love double matting to give a 1/6th border and I love that I could use all the scraps of Prima Craftsman’s paper from my other card.  Scrappy cards is the current theme over at A Creative Romance so I am entering my card there.

So I wanted to do some sort of quilted cog thing but didn’t know how or what so I did what I always do in this sort of situation, I sought help from Mr Google and he didn’t disappoint.  I found a fabulous real quilt by Jacquie of Tall Grass Prairie Studio and I scraplifted the shape she used.  I used two Nestie circles to make a donut shape for my template, when I was done though I wanted to make it look more cog-like so I cut the little triangles out of both the inside and outside edge, shame you can’t see the inside but hey, I am good at doing details no one can see!

Not only did I fussy cut my quilted cog but I also fussy cut the image, yep, that amazing gothic frame comes with the image and this crazy little crafter deciding fussy cutting it was a good idea.  I love how it turned out though but then I always love the results of fussy cutting as much as I hate the process.  I’m linking this up at the current Party Time Tuesdays’ challenge which is all about fussy cutting.

I picked my embellies to suit the theme of the image, a clock key as Frankenstein’s Bride was “constructed” and needed to be turned on so to speak.  An Idea-ology Muse Token with the word “Unique” as she certainly is that and a set of keys because I am sure that being a constructed person you would feel like you were in a cage not able to escape the constraints of your origins.

Spice it up for Mama, she'll get hot for you

There’s an awesome new image available at Simply B Stamps, Betty Show Girl, inspired by Mama from Chicago.

Isn’t she just divine?  And there’s a divine challenge going on at the SBS blog, use Betty Show Girl, the colours Cream and Brown (anywhere you want) and glitter and link up on the blog.  I tell you it is well worth it, one you get to play with this bit of gorgeousness (she comes with the sentiment on my card) and secondly, you’re in with a chance to win a commission drawn by the same talented artist who drew this image, Betty.  For all the details of the prize and the challenge head on over to Simply B Stamps blog and check out the other fabulous designs by the DT gals.

To make up my card I followed the sketch at Technostampers, I did add in the ribbon element as I thought this flamboyant mama needed a bit of flouncy flair.  Am still loving my Bow-it-All for tying these amazing bows, as well as the fabby dies from Spellbinders that gave the stunning frame for the image.  As I have both a die cut (two actually) and a bow I’m entering this in the current Papertake Weekly challenge.  And as my bow is made from ribbon I’m also linking it up at Party Time Tuesday’s current challenge.

By the way, if you’re not convinced you need this gorgeous image, go check her out at SBS as she also comes in a full length version.  All of us know a woman who deserves to be reminded she is a show stopper and this simply stunning image is perfect for a card that does just that.

Honk if it’s Your Birthday

I’ve got a cute little card to share today featuring Beep Beep Jude from Simply B Stamps.

And this one is heading out to little Jude himself for his birthday.

I used my Cameo to do a cut to make my shape card, I just stuck two of the Beep Beep Judes together and used the outline feature to make the card bigger than the image I printed.  I then used the same function with an internal cut to make smaller shapes for the inside.  So simple and one of the many things to love about my Cameo!

As it’s a shaped card I’m entering it in the anything goes challenges at Creative Fingers and Party Time Tuesday.  Jude’s favourite colour is blue so there’s lots of it on my card so I’m also linking it up at Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT.

Monster Candy

Today’s offering features an image from this year’s Jude and the Rockers’ Halloween collection from Simply B Stamps, meet the adorable Jude-stein.

I’m on a bit of a Jude roll at the moment, I haven’t coloured many of these little cuties but am making up for it this month!  I’m also on an ATC journey as I scramble to finish my Halloween album on time for this year’s Halloween!  This ATC will feature in another layout of the album.

To make up my ATC I followed the current sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  The album is meant for a little boy who’s only just started in our preschool so I hope it is more cute than scary, which also makes this just right for the current challenge at Party Time Tuesday.  Being an ATC, I’m also linking this project at Craft-room Challenge.
