There is a certain beauty in illness…

Sharing a card made for a colleague who isn’t well featuring the super cute Beary Sick from Mo’s Digital Pencil.

I used the sketch over at Hand Stamped Sentiments for the layout of my card.  For some added interest I cut a large stitched rectangle for the rectangle element in the sketch but used the negative.  Love that these Simon Says Stamp! Stitched Rectangle dies have stitching on both the positive and negative cut.

I was going to play along at As You Like It in their favourite way to add stitching challenge but in going to blog this card now I find I’ve missed it.  I’m a lazy crafter so it was faux by the way.  But fortunately, I can still play along in the current challenge as they are asking your favourite way to add a sentiment.  Where I have an appropriate one it is definitely stamping.  I love being able to do a second layer in embossing ink and adding clear embossing powder over any colour ink to give a lovely raised texture and shine.  I love that I can match the colour ink to my colouring and I particularly love that someone else has done all the hard work of centring multiple lines of text!

While the bear is wearing striped PJs, I wanted to play along at Animal Friends and wasn’t sure it was enough stripes.  So I found some lovely Maja striped paper in my stash that looked a bit like pyjama fabric, it was just perfect for this masculine get well card.  I added a sentiment from Stampin' Up! stamped in blue ink.  Finally, I finished off the card with a small sprinkle of silver stars to cover off the splatter element in the sketch.

Oh, and Mo’s gorgeous bear isn’t just perfect for a masculine card, it reminded not just me of my colleague but all our other colleagues who also signed the card!

we are unfashioned creatures…

I’m sharing a card today featuring Frank from Mo’s Digital Pencil.

The layout of my card follows the current sketch over at Atlantic Hearts.  To make my background I’ve used various washi tapes, which I’ve deliberately torn roughly rather than neatly cut in keeping with my Frankenstein image.  I went with washi tape for the background in order to give an explosion of colour to my CAS card, as that is the current theme over at Crafty Cardmakers.

My image was chosen to fit the current challenge at Addicted to CAS, which is monster.  I think it’s fitting for a teenage boy, especially as this monster is tech savvy!

Oh, and the inside of my card reads, “hope your birthday was a monstrously good day”.

…wrinkled its nose and managed to look unimpressed

Sharing a card I’ve made up ready to take to my neice for her birthday featuring a cute image from Mo’s Digital Pencil called Little Punk.

Can you guess my niece has hit the tween years?!  Not that we knew what those were when I was growing up but she is cute and she has spunk so this image suited just perfectly.  As I’m using a Mo image I am entering my card over at DP2 (Mo’s challenge blog) where the theme is anything goes, although they have an optional Christmas theme at the moment, which I’ve not gone with as you gotta celebrate the birthday especially if it is close to Christmas!

My card follows the current sketch over at Sketch Saturday and to decorate it I’ve played along with the bingo board at Cutie Pie.  I’ve used the stitching (faux) from the top right-hand corner and then went down the line using a die cut and adding a charm for my embellie.

I’ve made this up just in time to head out to give to my niece.  Almost forgot in the flurry of Christmas preparations, luckily I had the printed image sitting in front of my computer monitor or I’d be the least favourite aunt this year.
