…bow or brooch or braid or brace…

This is my final project featuring one of the new Birthday Betty Boos from Simply B Stamps, this one is the Elegant Birthday Portrait but this time the version without a frame.

Another pic of the top of the box.

I’ve placed here on an altered Graphic 45 Book Box that I have made into a shabby chic jewellery box as a gift for a friend at work.  I wanted to frame my image in a more dramatic way than with a printed border and the lovely oval one Betty drew is way too hard to fussy cut so I wasn’t going to give myself the angst of decoupaging it, particularly as I was rather time poor for this project.  Luckily I had already decorated my chippie frame for an earlier project I ended up not using it on.  And, of course, being shabby chic and a jewellery box I had to add lots and lots of flowers.  With both of these elements I am entering this in the current challenge at I Am Roses.

Now between my very elegant image with her pearls and updo and my distressed shabby chic elements I think this is very much in the vintage style so I am also entering it in the current challenge at Rhedd & Rosie’s.  As I’ve altered something (the book box) I am also linking it up at Altered Eclectics where their theme is always anything goes.

If you’re looking for the next stop on the Simply B Stamps’ 4th birthday blog head on over to the wonderful Rebecca’s blog or if you’ve just come stumbled on here then go to the SBS blog to start from the beginning as the DT girls have some gorgeous projects with these awesome images.
