Well, I'm not really from Mattel…

I’m sharing a card for my nephew’s birthday which I have created a cute scene for using a freebie from Sliekje’s Digi Stamps (hi), Robot Chip 2 from Scrapper’s Delights and T Rex by Some Odd Girl.

I needed some inspiration for this card and went looking for some challenges, the first to catch my attention was the metallics theme over at Use Your Stuff.  When I also liked the current sketch at Try Stampin’ On Tuesday and their twist was to use metal I knew that I was clearly meant to have metal on my card.  My first thought was a robot toy so off I went hunting for digis, in the process I found the cute T Rex image and knew I wanted to incorporate that too as I actually bought my nephew a dinosaur toy for his birthday.  I found a few robot images but went with the Scrapper’s Delights’ one as his hand being up worked in with the cute little boy digi, which was way cuter than any others I came across.  Big thanks to Sliekje for generously providing her digis for free.

So I have two kinds of metallics on my card, my robot is coloured to be made of metal and I have metal embellies in the cute steering wheel (which goes with the trucks on the washi tape I used) and propeller (which reminded me of the propellers on kids’ hats).  Over at Creatalicious their theme is to use something old and something new.  My digis are new, bought especially for this card, while my designer paper is old, been in my stash for maybe a couple of years at least, but suited the whole play theme I have going.

Think this turned out super cute.

…wrinkled its nose and managed to look unimpressed

Sharing a card I’ve made up ready to take to my neice for her birthday featuring a cute image from Mo’s Digital Pencil called Little Punk.

Can you guess my niece has hit the tween years?!  Not that we knew what those were when I was growing up but she is cute and she has spunk so this image suited just perfectly.  As I’m using a Mo image I am entering my card over at DP2 (Mo’s challenge blog) where the theme is anything goes, although they have an optional Christmas theme at the moment, which I’ve not gone with as you gotta celebrate the birthday especially if it is close to Christmas!

My card follows the current sketch over at Sketch Saturday and to decorate it I’ve played along with the bingo board at Cutie Pie.  I’ve used the stitching (faux) from the top right-hand corner and then went down the line using a die cut and adding a charm for my embellie.

I’ve made this up just in time to head out to give to my niece.  Almost forgot in the flurry of Christmas preparations, luckily I had the printed image sitting in front of my computer monitor or I’d be the least favourite aunt this year.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, And filled all the stockings…

December already and my last play at a Tim tag for the year following his tut for December.

I didn’t have the right punches (can’t seem to find them in Australia yet!) so had to improvise with my Martha Stewart Branch punch.  While I had the Idea-ology Jingle Bells they seemed a little small for my wreath so I swapped them out for some berries and added in a rusty bell as this tag is going out to a friend who likes things vintage.  My Seasonal Chitchat stickers also didn’t have any of the phrases like Tim’s did so I had to go with just two separate words.

As I’ve followed a tutorial and recipe from Tim I am entering my tag in the current challenge at NordSalten Hobby Club.  Over at Lawnscaping they are looking for tags so I am entering mine.  And, of course, I am linking it up on Tim’s blog too.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf

I’ve made only one Christmas card with a hand coloured image this year and I’ve used No Peeking from Kraftin’ Kimmie for it.

This card is for a crafty friend who I know will appreciate the extra effort, I’ve even personalised it with the message I foiled on the card.  Although I’m thinking a less fancy font would have been easier to read!  As this is going out to a special person I am entering it in the current challenge at Moving Along with the Times.

To make up my card I have followed the current sketch at Cheerful Sketches.  I love using layers and have made mine up with the papers that came in the No Peeking Kardmaking Kit from Kraftin’ Kimmie with the stamp.  I just swapped out the cream card base from the kit for black and also double matted my designer paper elements using cardstock from the kit and more black.  The sketch had no embellies but I added an extra Christmas touch with some holly and berry and used a fancy circle die for some added interest.

Over at Colouring in Scrapland they are looking for Christmas projects so I am entering this card in the challenge.  Loved colouring up this adorable image although I did trim off the added bits of the table and wrapping paper etc as it didn’t fit the sketch design.  I also went with green for Santa’s shirt instead of red as the colour combo I used is my friend’s all time fav.
