Are we not like two volumes of one book?

I’ve a special card to show today featuring the sweet Jack and Ginger from Mo’s Digital Pencil.

This card is for a 65th wedding anniversary and was commissioned by my mother for a couple who have been customers at the café my mum works at for years.  I actually don’t know what they look like but this image was just too lovely not to use.

I looked up 65th wedding anniversaries and found they are a sapphire one so have chosen blue tones for my card and added in a Tim Holtz’s Facet I coloured blue.  I cut the 65 from Tim’s Apothecary Remnant Rubs, the only ones I own that have a white sheet as well as the black.  I thought the sentiment from the Small Talk stickers was just perfect for a couple who have been together for over 65 years, especially as they are still so happy they are off on a cruise to celebrate their anniversary.

My card follows the current sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  I managed to cut my layers the wrong size but only realised when I had already stuck the odd sized one down so just had to roll with it.  I wanted a lovely vintage feel to the card and I’ve distressed all my layers so I am also entering this in the current challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks.  As I’ve used lots of lovely I Am Roses roses as my floral embellie I am linking this up in their current challenge.

Give me wine which maketh glad…

I’ve made a card tonight featuring the lovely Wine O’clock image from Saturated Canary.

Now as soon as I saw this image I knew I wanted it, problem was it wasn’t available at Krista’s shop, no, this one came on a CD with a magazine, Complete Cardmaking.  Big problem as it was the last edition published and it was sold out!  I entered a blog candy contest where two of the magazines were offered as prizes but sadly didn’t win.  A crafty friend of mine won a copy but that didn’t help me as you don’t share digis.  So I put the research skills I’ve honed at work into action and I hunted down a copy of the magazine, although it was on a site I had never used and so I was sure I’d either never see the magazine or get a refund as they were sold out.  Luckily the website turned out to be legit and they did have the magazine and so I am the happy owner of this image and Bathing Beauty, another Saturated Canary image that came on the CD.  And of course I just had to colour her up once I had her.

To make up my card I’ve followed the current sketch at Sketch Saturday, it only went up today but as I had to grab this opportunity to get this card done it was perfect timing.  I just loved the circles in the sketch and when I went hunting for other challenges to help me decorate my card I couldn’t go past Cupcake Inspirations.  I’ve taken the black and white and the various toppers as my embellies from the cupcakes featured.

I cut the bow and shoes from Grungeboard and enamelled them with UTEE.  Lots of pearls and some roses and I was done.  With all my girlie embellies and my party girl image this card fits the ladies’ night theme over at Crafting When We Can perfectly so I am also entering my card in their challenge.

If only her petals curled up a little more...

Today’s card is for the second twin and features another Flower Portrait image from Simply B Stamps, this one is Lilli.

To make up my card I’ve followed the current sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  I used a lovely piece of lace for the rectangle element and my new Dewdrop Circle die to frame the pretty image.

For inspiration on my embellishments I’ve used the bingo board at Cards und More.  I’ve selected the diagonal top right to bottom left and have flowers on my image and as embellies, lots of pink and some ribbon roses.

Over at Allsorts they are looking for pearls and gems and I’ve used both to finish embellishing my card.  I framed the sweet image with pearls and added some pearls as stems to the flower in the corner as well as nestling some pearl topped pins among my floral embellies.  Finally to add a bit of glam to the image I’ve given her a necklace using Bitty Gems I coloured up to match the image.

An evening orchid…

I have a very feminine card to share today featuring the very pretty Flower Portrait Orchid from Simply B Stamps.

The image was part of a fundraiser set, to buy these you need to be part of the Simply B Stamps Fan Page.  I needed to make a pair of cards for a set of twins and I knew the delightful Flower Portrait images were going to be just perfect for them.

To make up this card I’ve followed the sketch over at Aud Sentiments, my card also features the required sentiment, stamped in Spun Sugar Distress Ink on a die cut frame.  I used die cuts for the other elements of the sketch too and I have four different die cuts on my card and also four flowers and four Swarovski crystals so I am entering the current challenge at Crafty Creations, where their theme is four of things.

At Coffee, Chocolate & Cards they are looking for flowers in your image, which I have in mine.  I’m actually fairly happy with how I coloured them too for a change.  I picked up the floral theme and decided to make my background with a stencil and some ink and embossing powder.  I wasn’t so good with inking my flowers, used my spray gun for the first time and am thinking I am going back to using my Copic air gun instead.
