I have a Valentine’s card to share with an adorable new image from Simply B Stamps’ Teen Scene Holiday collection, Batty for Rio.

As always, I’ve coloured my image with my trusty Copics so I’m entering the Addicted to Stamps and More challenge.  I’ve gone with traditional Valentine’s colours with this one, in soft pinks, and added some mulberry flowers for a bit of interest.

I’ve also finally broken out some of my endless supply of washi tape to help break up the background.  With my washi tape element I am entering this in the current Ribbon Carousel challenge.

I am really on a Fran-tage kick at the moment, I’ve used it again to edge my die cut, I love the bit of sparkle it adds.  I was going to put more as a background to the image but am glad I held off, I think it would have been too much had I added it.  All in all, I think this is a rather cute Valentine’s card, and with the batty messenger bringing a love letter there is definitely love in the air so I’m also entering the Make My Monday challenge.

Pop a Bottle for London 2014

I’m very excited to present today my first DT project for the Simply B Stamps team and this awesome, soon to be released, image New Year’s London.

 

We’ve got a new challenge at Simply Challenged Challenges too and what else would the theme be featuring this gorgeous gal celebrating new year than New Year.  So come and join the fun, any image but we sure love to see the SBS ones, and anything New Year’s related.  You’ve got until 9 February to join the fun.

London is part of the newest Teen Scene collection, Teen Holiday, that is coming soon to Simply B Stamps and she was so fun to ink.  To do up my card I actually printed her twice, once on my Copic X-Press It paper to colour and once on the blue cardstock to get the fine lines and the confetti.  I didn’t want to have to try and fussy cut around all that confetti and wanted it to be a bit sparkly and special so I used embossing powder on it.

To make up my card I followed this week’s sketch at the Outlawz Challenge.  I wish I’d had silver or gold glitter brads to match the copper ones and the confetti but this is what I had in my stash.

As I’ve used my Copics on this, I’m also entering it in the current Addicted to Stamps and More! challenge.  With my new year’s themed image I am also linking it up at Divas by Design for their let’s celebrate challenge.

Stay Calm and Keep Sipping

It’s challenge time over at Simply Steampunk Challenges and this month’s theme is embossing folders.  For my card I have used one of the awesome new Lady Killer images from Simply B Stamps, Tea Time Tammy.

I followed a sketch from Kathy’s Waffle Sketch File and used part of the image for one of the elements of the sketch.  For my embossing, I wanted the background to be less subtle than simple embossing so I inked up my folder first with some white paint, I also spritzed my cardstock with some Smooch to give it some extra sparkle.  The purple moon is actually a piece of coloured foil I cut with a Nestie.  As for my embellies, I love the irony of the sentiment and I can’t resist big metal flowers.
