O Christmas Tree

More of my last minute cards featuring some images I helpfully had coloured up from last year when I failed to make any cards at all.  These cards feature Rio Trimming the Tree from the vaults of Simply B Stamps.

Again I’ve production lined my card making using a sketch from Sketch N Stash, flipping it to make the second card with the flipped image.  The paper I used was full of fun elements so I chose not to embellish the cards further but I did add bling to the images.  This was to cover the spiders and skulls, while I’d happily leave them on a card for myself, these cards aren’t going to those with the same macbre tastes but that’s the great thing about bling, it can turn any image into something different to suit a different taste.  The bling is all from my stash (old) and the BoBunny paper is new so I’ve got both twists of the stash element covered.

When it comes to decorating for Christmas I am a traditionalist so the main decoration is the tree with the extra special old star that tops it.  So in keeping with the current theme at Card Crafter’s Circle, my card features an image of someone, in this case Rio, trimming a tree.

Scissors, Paper, Rio

I’ve used another fun Halloween Rio on today’s project, this one is from the Simply B Stamps' 2012 Teen Scene Halloween collection, Rio Scissorhands.

There’s something slightly creepy about the thought of a person “made” from bits by someone and especially when they have scissors for hands.  Of course, in the movie Johnnie Deep injects a lot of pathos into the character and you can’t help but like Edward.  And so it is with Rio, she is too cute not to like.

So given the cute but creepy nature of my image I’m entering my card in the current challenge at Corrosive Challenges.  I managed to find a scissor charm in my enormous stash of metal embellies, I knew I had one in there somewhere, just took some digging to find it, and with that embellie I’m also linking this up at Craftitude’s current challenge with a ‘things being with the letter S’ theme.

To complete my card I followed the current sketch at Card Crafter’s Circle.  I love layering my cards and all the layers on this one let me show off a range of Halloween patterns on the paper I chose.
