As we express our gratitude…

Sharing a CAS thank you card I made for a colleague.

I’ve followed the current sketch over at Atlantic Hearts for my layout.  For the three strip elements I’ve stamped with a retired stamp set from Clearly Besotted called Flag Patterns.  I did this so I could play along at Retro Rubber in their tic tac toe challenge.  I bought this stamp way back in July 2016 so it meets the more than a year-old criteria.  It is clear not rubber but hoping that’s OK, I’ve got loads of clear stamps that could use some inky love and this set was one of them!

The other elements from the tic tac toe board I’ve used are stripes (from my stamp), the colour green and one word, thanks to the awesome chippie from Make it Crafty.  As this is a CAS card I’m also entering it in the current challenge at Fussy and Fancy.

Shining in the East, beyond them far

Sharing the second Christmas card I’ve made today as the rain keeps tumbling down outside, this one feature some dies from Noor! Design and Clearly Besotted.

I’ve based my card on the current sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch.  Stars take the place of the cloud thanks to the current theme at Happy Little Stampers Christmas.  The largest star is actually a small shaker element, I’m loving making up little shakers to add a bit of interest to my CAS cards.

The colour scheme comes from Sparkles Christmas where they want to see projects that use silver or gold.  Using the metallic cardstocks makes for a lovely elegant card with just a touch of extra sparkle from the bitty gems, which replace the raindrops from the sketch.

Dies, SVGs & Templates etc

…that all, that is really worth the doing, is what we do for others

I’m sharing another two thank you cards, this time featuring only die-cuts from Clearly Besotted and Spellbinders.

The layout of both cards follows the current sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch.  For the first card I used the negative cut and then added some interest with a coloured background I made using alcohol inks on Yupo paper.  The second I’ve take the positive cuts and glittered them up, unfortunately they were a bit large, thinking I should have cut around the insert die rather than using the matching outline die.  The sketch is still there but the elements are just rather enlarged.

Over at Crafty Gals’ Corner they are looking for projects that include a sentiment, which both my cards do.  As that sentiment is giving thanks I am also linking my cards up at the current Mod Squad challenge.

Ingredients:
Chalks & Powders etc
Tim Holtz Distress Glitter ~ Broken China & Mustard Seed
Dies, SVGs & Templates etc
Clearly Besotted Dies ~ CBDTH277 Thanks Word (retired)
Spellbinders Dies Nestabilities ~ S5-183 Imperial Gold Elements
Inks & Paints etc

Yupo ~ White

I was swinging, on a vine, in the air!

Sharing a fun card I made today featuring stamps from the Cheeky Monkey set from Clearly Besotted.

Over at Animal Friends they are looking for special card forms which inspired me to make a slider card with those cheeky monkeys.  To make up my card I’ve followed the current sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch.  I computer generated the sentiment and printed it before I stamped the branch stamp from the Cheeky Monkey set to form one of the elements from the sketch.  I couldn’t resist adding a second cheeky monkey into the corner of the card.

For my colour choice I’ve used the inspirational ones from CAS Colours & Sketches.  My cardstock is right, with my base Stampin’ Up Early Espresso with a second layer of Always Artichoke, which also forms the vine on which my cheeky monkey is swinging.  I still don’t have any Stampin’ Up inks, other than Basic Black, so had to improvise with Distress Inks in colours that were as close as I could get Early Espresso and Always Artichoke for the branch and leaves.  My monkeys bring in the third colour, Pumpkin Pie, this time with an approximate match using Copic markers.
