My heart seemed full as it could hold

I’ve got a little banner to share today featuring the gorgeous A Heart for You Rio from Simply B Stamps.

And here’s a close-up of the beautiful image.

It’s a Valentine banner, but you guessed that right?  I’ve used dies from the December Club La-La Land kit as well as the idea for the banner from the included project.  I love the dies in these kits they are just awesome.

Given the theme of my banner I am entering it in the current challenge over at Creative Corner.  It is going to form part of the decorations of an office for Valentine’s Day, I’m turning the office into the “tunnel of love” in revenge for the occupant (a male manager at work) covering my desk with glitter balls for Christmas.  As a crafter I’d never inflict glitter on someone’s workspace, I’m still trying to get the glitter off so he must pay and what better way than having to work in an office decorated like the tunnel of love?!

My project is clearly not a card so I’m also entering it in current challenge at C.R.A.F.T. challenges.  Love to Scrap is running a challenge asking you to use at least one item starting with an initial of their name.  I have “L” covered with the word love, “T” for twine, “S” for sentiment and “B” for blossoms.  I almost had a clean sweep but I just couldn’t think of anything starting with “C” to add to my banner.

Two blossoms on a single branch

This is my first post as an official DT at the Outlawz Sketch challenge, yes, my month guesting has rolled on to a permanent DT spot, whoop, whoop!  My card today features a beautiful image from Whimsy Stamps, Pregnant Woman.

And here’s this week’s sketch.

So I like to enter challenges for, well, the challenge, so before I made up my card I moseyed on over to the Whimsy Stamps’ blog to check out their current challenge, which happened to be tic tac toe.  Now I love a tic tac toe challenge as it gives you three elements to work with and I really needed that lace element on this card as I went and forgot the square behind the circle.  I improvised corners with some pieces of lace, which made a nice frame for my flowers.  I moved those closer as my stencil and die cut view finders were smaller than the circle element in the sketch and smaller than I thought but I really wanted to use my new Lovely View die and the stencil view finder was a serendipitous find in my stash.

It’s a bit hard to see the stencilled view finder and I think I should have used the actual die as the stencil one doesn’t quite line up with the die cut one.  I do like the effect though of the shadow behind, I used embossing paste in black but softened it up with some Aged Silver Fran-tage.  As this card also features a stencil I’m entering it in the current challenge at Quirky Crafts.

With my lovely Prima flowers I am also entering my card at Creative Corner’s current challenge.

Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!

There’s a new release over at Simply B Stamps and my first post today features the fabulous Fight for the Cause Nancy image.

Now Betty offers commissions from time to time where you get to choose how you want your image drawn up, theme, pose, style etc and Betty works her magic.  Usually these are $45 but if you’ve joined the Fan Page sometimes Betty does a $25 special, these she does in sets of ten.  This means ten new images in an assortment of themes which you can also sometimes purchase, for this collection all ten ladies who bought a commission gave permission for theirs to be sold so go check out all the different styles and themes, everything from Halloween to Sandra Dee sweet, of set D.  If you buy a commission and give permission for it to be sold you also get all of the other images that are permitted to be sold in that set.  Pretty awesome, right?

So to make up my card I’ve followed the current sketch at Outlawz, I just went somewhat OTT with the flowers!  I really wanted to use my new Nesties and a doily (I’ve got heaps I’ve had in my stash for ages) so I layered up the circle element.  Circles happen to be current theme at Creative Corner so I’m entering my card over there.  And, as two of my circles are die cuts, I’m also linking this up at the current Crafts 4 Eternity challenge.

Frolic in the Autumn Mist

The stamp on my project today is going way back to the Zombie Teen range from Simply B Stamps, this one is Zombie Dino Christian from the Halloween collection.

I liked my little tag from yesterday so much I thought I’d do another one, I think they will look really cute on layouts in the mini albums I am making.  Again I’ve used a Ranger tag as my base, this time I’ve followed the sketch at STAMPlorations new challenge blog.

I was going to add another DP but it was all a bit too busy so instead I just left the centre black.  I thought the lolly paper from We R Memory Keepers was a good fit to add to the feel that Christian is dressed up for Halloween and not some other event, same with the epoxy stickers I had in my stash from last year’s Halloween tags.

The tie is actually a strip of washi tape folded in half.  Washi tape is something else I have a large collection of that I never seem to use much.

The current challenge at Simply Create Too is for Halloween or orange, I’ve got both covered in this one so am linking up there.  As this also isn’t a card I’m entering it in the current Creative Corner challenge.
