Swervy suave severity

I have a CAS card to share that I made up today for a colleague.

To make up the card I’ve followed the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, they are a CAS style challenge and that’s what I needed for this card as it is going to a male.  I resized the sketch to a 6x6 and printed it out and then cut out the three vertical elements to use as templates.

I used the Tic Tac Toe board at another CAS challenge site, CAS-ual Fridays, to help complete my card, I’ve gone with dots (the Candi) and grey for my colour scheme.  I already had twine from the sketch so that gave me my three in a row.   Tic Tac Toe challenges are great for helping you use your neglected stash, like my Candi that has been in my stash for near on two years and rarely ever used.

I am the world’s worst stamper so my sentiment is a bit blurry, I wanted to add interest so I used Fran-tage to emboss these so I am also entering this in the current challenge over at a A Gem of a Challenge.

Despite the dodgy stamping I think this turned out quite well.  I’ve kept my embellies masculine too, I didn’t have an appropriate button so I went with a car part from the Junkyard Findings’ range and some screw brads.  I love my metal embellies and I do love things a bit grungy, hopefully so too will my colleague.

Now you go to the house of Aides in the secret places of the earth

It’s challenge time at Simply Challenged Challenges and I have a bright and fun card to share featuring Christian Hades from the Teen Scene Gods in Love collection from Simply B Stamps.  Our theme for the challenge is to crop your image, how easy is that?  So grab your fav Simply B Stamps’ image and join in the fun.

To make up my card I followed the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches although my square element ended up a bit big.  The original die cut featuring Christian Hades is the right size, but then I felt it needed the black border and, so, it ended up a bit large.

Given the bit of fire in his hand I had to go with warm colours on this with lots of orange, so I’m entering this in the current zesty colours challenge at the Alphabet Challenge.  The simplicity of the sketch and the colours worked well for this card that I plan on giving to a male colleague at work for his birthday.  As such I’m also linking this up at the Craft All Day challenge.

Just a Girl and Her Bat

It’s Day 26 and the last of my posts from the road!  Today’s project features an older Simply B Stamps’ image, Rio, from the Everyday Emos collection.

The layout follows the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, where the designer papers really add the interest.  I flipped the sketch to be able to add my image and also included one of my new flair buttons from 36 Shades of Flair.

As my card is featuring an awesome character dressed up ready for Halloween I’m entering it in the current challenge at Crafty Creations.  And being Halloween it also fits the optional twist at Through the Purple Haze so I’m also linking it up there.
