…through the dancing poppies stole a breeze, most softly lulling to my soul

Had to make up a sympathy card tonight for a colleague whose father passed away and used Wild Poppy Silhouette from Donna Downey Studios teamed with a stamp from Kimmie’s Sympathy Set by Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps on it.

I didn’t expect to have the chance to play along again over at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers but this is a ‘dispatching’ card so am joining Edna again.  Hoping for better news when I get in to work tomorrow that may lead to a hat trick if someone is hatching and hopefully that someone appreciates snark!

I’m just under the wire to enter this over at TGIF where their theme is sympathy or get well cards.  Truly one of “those” occasions as they say, sometimes the hardest cards to choose supplies for and the absolute hardest to find words to write inside but I think also the ones most appreciated.

Ended up going with watercoloured flowers on this one using an old stamp, wasn’t sure how old but found blog posts featuring it from 2013.  The sentiment is also from a long since retired set, think I’ve had mine at least a couple of years and bought it on clearance.  With all my old rubber and flowers I am also linking this up at Retro Rubber.

If I but remember only…

I had to make a sympathy card and Leanne’s Angel from Aurora Wings was the perfect image for it.

My card follows the sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch, although it is kind of hard to see the stripe elements.  I added them with some Twinkling H2O’s before stamping my sentiment from Kimmie’s Sympathy Set, a retired Kraftin’ Kimmie set, and embossing that in white.  Trying to photograph a mostly white card is really difficult and the foiled image, which was done in Opal foil, has come up looking silver.

With my shiny foil and glittery H2O’s I have lots of sparkle, although done in what I hope is an elegant way, so I am linking up my card at Allsorts.  As I have an angel as my image I am also entering my card in the current challenge at Incy Wincy, where they are looking for something magical.

The next moment the day became very bothering indeed…

The card I’m sharing today features a retired image from Strömstad Scrapbooking, the adorable Birdie with Elephant Sorry.

I’ve made up my card following the sketch at SugarPea Designs and taken inspiration from the sprinkles on the image to make a shaker card.  I didn’t have any sequins to add to my shaker mix so I made my own using Elizabeth Craft Shimmer Sheetz and punches.

My colour palette comes from the current challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches.  I am not so great picking colour combos, I knew I wanted to use yellow as the recipient loves yellow so this palette was just perfect especially given my chosen image.  I used the best matches I had for the colours and used a Stampin’ Up to Copic colour chart created by Judy May to select the colours to use on my image.

Over at Cards 4 Galz they are looking for projects with no patterned paper, which my CAS card is certainly devoid of so I am entering my card there.  To finish it off I stamped my sentiment in Mustard Seed Distress Ink.  It was a little small so I used the swirl from one of the stamps in the Close To My Heart Holiday Commentary set to fill the space on my flag diecut.  Finished off with a resin flower in the closest colour I had to taupe.
