I wonder how much it would take to buy a soap bubble…

Sharing a card featuring the fun Brigitte from Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps.

I’ve made this card for a friend’s birthday, creating my sentiment from one of those included with Brigitte and another from the Crazy Talk set by Tim Holtz.  I’ve added in some bubbles around my sentiment using the Water Effects 1 from Designs by Ryn.

My card layout is from CAS(E) this Sketch, I just changed the base from a rectangle to a square.  I also turned the round element into a shaker so I could play along at CAS on Friday for their current challenge calling for sequins and a celebration.  I selected a piece of DP that was somewhat bubble like and luckily had the perfect shaker mix in my collection from Little Things from Lucy’s Cards.

I’m also playing bingo with Aud Sentiments.  I have a sentiment and have gone with the centre column; my sentiment is embossed, I have a stamp and my die features faux stitching.  Love how this turned out, even though I’m not personally much for soaking in a tub, but it’s perfect for my friend for her birthday.

But a birthday, I always feel, is a great occasion…

I needed a male birthday card so I turned to my trusty Bird Crazy stamps from Tim Holtz to make one up.

For inspiration on my layout I used the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  To create the line element I stamped out a sentiment from the Crazy Talk set.  I didn’t want to leave the background completely white and the ink splatters theme at Creative with Stamps gave me the idea of adding a party popper.  My placement of my ink splats wasn’t so great though as my party popper is at a bit of a funny angle for my crazy bird to have really popped it!

Because I am invariably terrible at picking colours the colour scheme for my card comes from the current challenge at Stampin’ Royalty.  I didn’t have the Stampin’ Up colours so I’ve substituted.  Unfortunately mint seems to mean every type of green known to man but on screen at least Tim’s Cracked Pistachio seemed to be a pretty good match.  You’d have thought navy blue would have been easier to match but my Chipped Sapphire had a tendency to turn a bit purple when dry so I added a bit of Dina Wakley Night in Archival Ink to darken up my blue.

I popped my somewhat drunkenly placed party popper off the page with a 3D Zot and added in some baker’s twine for the pull string as my only real embellishment on my card.  Loving a CAS crazy bird for a male birthday card!

I begin to love this little creature…

I’m sharing a card I made for a colleague heading off to have her baby shortly featuring a sweet pregnancy image, Mother To Be 1, from Mo’s Digital Pencil.

My card follows the current sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.  I had to flip the sketch as I needed a vertical oval to fit my image so I shifted the placement of the sentiment to match.

Baby stuff always makes me think of gingham and there was lots of it in the Double “D” inspiration image.  I was wondering how to incorporate that into my card until I saw the current theme at Moving Along with the Times of no designer paper.  Got out my trusty Tim Holtz stamp and the lovely and baby soft Fran-tage and voilà one lovely ginghamy background.

As Ive created my own background I am also entering this in the challenge over at The Sisterhood of Crafters.  Thanks for the tip, Darlene!

To finish off my card I added in a sweet teddy bear button and an appropriate sentiment from Tim’s Small Talk stickers.  I cut the saying in half and cut in notches on the ends before inking with blue and adhering to my card.

Over at Crafty Musketeers they are looking for projects to do with babies, which mine certainly is so I’m linking up my card there.  As I also have a Mo image I am entering my card in the current challenge at DP2.
