It’s Day 2 of Simply B Stamps’ 13 Days of Halloween with the theme of ‘eye balls and body parts’ and I’ve chosen the stunning Marie Back from Death from the Steampunk Zombies & Creeps collection.

Look at all that luscious hair!  She took quite some time to colour but was definitely worth the work.  It only seemed fitting to frame her in opulence so the frame is Opulent Ovals, I’ve used two of them, the black one I cut one in half as it wasn’t long enough and then took some bits from another.  The larger one I bronzed then added patina to in keeping with the theme of death and decay.  I also Fran-taged around Marie to add a bit of bling.

The hand is origami, I followed a tutorial by Jeremy Shafer but no matter how many times I rewound the video I couldn’t work out how to get a fifth finger!  I also Fran-taged the hand to match with the background on Marie.  The pearls are an old bracelet of mine, I thought it was fitting for royalty.

I followed the sketch at Retro Sketches to make up my card, all those lovely strips worked beautifully for some distressed papers to go with the distressed look of poor Marie.  Given the image and fact this is a very adult Halloween card I’m also entering it in PunkyouGirl’s Halloween challenge.
