Yet still my heart goes to thee…

This is my second project featuring one of the awesome Teen Scene Steampunk Valentine images being rereleased at Simply B Stamps, this one features the handsome My Heart Aflutter Christian.

I’ve done this one in a more masculine style and kept well away from the girlie elements of my previous card using Kitty Love London, just to show how versatile these images are.  As I have kept it ungirlie I’ve naturally steered away from florally elements so I am entering it in the current challenge at Rhedd & Rosie’s.

To make up my card I’ve followed the current sketch over at Outlawz, the simple square elements working well for a masculine unfrilly card.  For embellies I’ve got out my favourite ones from Tim Holtz and gone to town with lots of gears and metal, perfect for a male card.  The current challenge at Ladybug Crafts is to use your favourite embellishments so I’m also linking this up there.

Now be sure to go check out all the other amazing projects featuring the rest of the Teen Scene Steampunk Valentine images over at the Simply Steampunk Challenges blog.

God made all the creatures and gave them our love…

Over at Simply B Stamps Betty is rereleasing the Teen Scene Steampunk Valentine collection, one of my favourite Teen Scene collections, and I’ve got the beautiful Kitty Love London to share on my card.

The Teen Scene images are one of the collections that Betty has another artist draw for her so they aren’t permanently for sale, this collection hasn’t been available for some time now and will only be available for a limited time so be sure to check them out now before they are gone again.  They are a more cute Steampunk style than the Abigail Larson images Betty also carries.

To make up my card I’ve followed the current sketch at Friday Sketch and gone for a distressed feel.  To really challenge myself the image is printed at just one 2” tall, half the usual size I print at.

Now this wouldn’t be a Steampunk project without some metal and gears but I think they fit in nicely.  I’ve also added in lots of pretty elements like Fran-tage and flowers to make this really feminine so I’m also entering it in the current A Creative Romance and Left of Centre challenges.

With my flowers I’m also entering it over at Kit and Clowder and I remembered to go check out the other Outlawz challenges before I started but the Paper A La Mode was the super easy anything goes so I’ve got that covered and am also linking this up there.

Now head on over to the Simply Steampunk Challenges blog and check out what my awesome teamies have created with this gorgeous images.

Keep your jests for the king

This is my last card featuring one of the latest commissioned images from Simply B Stamps, the image is Jester Karen and it really is a fun one.

I love to play along with the challenges at Sketch n’ Dies and I’ve used their sketch to make up my card.  I have three die cuts on this card, I’ve layered two Nesties for the rectangular element Jester Karen is framed by and another for the sentiment.  With so many die cuts I think I’ve got the twist covered for the Craftitude current challenge so I’m entering my card over there.

With a jester as my image I just had to go with bright colours and a real rainbow of them, it’s certainly how I think of jesters.  The candy stripes of the designer paper really work well with the image.  Over at Tok Bobok they’re running a rainbow theme for their challenge into which I’ll be entering my card.

…how strange is that clinging love we have of life…

This is my second project featuring one of the new commissioned images from Simply B Stamps, this one is Franken Cutie Helen, and she really is a cutie.

As these images are commissioned there is no theme to the collection so you really get images to suit any occasion, from the inspirational Fight for the Cause Nancy in my previous card to this image perfect for Halloween.  Not that I’ve really used a Halloween theme on this card, mostly because I won’t be waiting til Halloween to send this one.

My card follows the current sketch at Jo’s Scrap Shack, a sketch that was perfect for Franken Cutie Helen and the ‘stitched together’ theme I was going for.  I’ve used stitching on this as well as distressing, a couple of techniques I am particularly fond of.  With my featured techniques I am entering this in the current challenge over at Scrapping4fun.  This card features a couple of other things I am particularly fond of too, flowers and lots of layers.  I realy do love layering up my cards to show off various designer papers and really add weight and dimension.  It’s L for layers over at ABC Challenges so I’m also entering my card over there.
