A banded, bulbous snarfblatt

More fun at the Simply B Stamps’ Fan Page challenge, this time featuring the lovely new Bettina Mermaid card and the theme embossing (wet or dry).

To make up my card I’ve followed the current sketch over at Sketch n’ Dies.  I used the print on my designer paper for one corner element and some funky florals and a button plus a die cut for the other.  I added some more funky designer paper using another die for the rectangle element.

I was going for a bit of a little mermaid theme with this card as it will be for a niece's birthday so I kept the colours really bright and the button I added was a little red lobstery thing like Sebastian from the movie.  I added my first bit of embossing (I went the wet kind unless you also count the embossed borders on my Nesties) in shades of blue to give a watery effect to the background.  I also embossed the frame around the sentiment in green and used a scalloped circle to give a bit of an impression of seaweed.

With my sea creatures and mermaid I’m entering this in Brown Sugar’s sea and sand challenge.  Over at Creative Fingers it’s a summer theme and what better time to be out spotting mermaids than summer so I’m also linking my card up there.

To see more of these beautiful new mermaids head on over to the SBS blog, where you’ll find all the details and the link to enter your cards.  You really must go see what the other DT gals have done too, there’s a list on the SBS blog as well as at the bottom of this post with all their blogs.  And do come back shortly to see my last card featuring another mermaid from the collection.  If you missed it, Sheri Mermaid floated on by in this earlier post.
