To dip his brush in dyes of heaven

I have a really CAS card to share today featuring a lovely chippie from Make It Crafty and one half of a Tim Holtz Crazy Talk sentiment.

I went with rainbow colours on my chippie as that’s the current theme over at AAA Cards, also added in a rainbow assortment of enamel dots to finish off my card.  I echoed the rainbow element in the designer paper I framed my top black panel with, wanted to break up all the black without making the card fussy.  I thought a multi-coloured ‘birthday’ would be too much so I added this in with some white embossing powder.

I let the chippie and stamp do all the work on this card so I could also play along at Inky Chicks where they’re challenging you to use a sentiment instead of an image.  A great way to produce a striking card in a lot less time that with an image.

Over at Watercooler Wednesday Heidi’s set a masculine.  This card is heading out to a male colleague.  I love enamel dots for a great embellie that keeps a card masculine and combined with my monochromatic base and just the splash of rainbow colour I think this is dramatic but still suitably masculine.

  2. Great colours and rainbow sentiment for this masculine card Emily. CAS but nicely laid out, and I love the pops of colour from the enamel dots, which I agree lend a real masculine feel. Thanks for joining us this week at the Watercooler Wednesday challenge.

  3. What a great masculine card, Emily! I love the way the narrow band of Designer paper visible echoes the bright rainbow colours of your sentiment and enamel dots. You've kept it clean and simple but with a touch of elegance. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
