Rub-a-dub-a-dubby!

Still playing with these awesome new Baby Teens from Simply B Stamps, this time with the super cute Rubber Ducky Jude.

I knew those Prima taps would come in handy some time and they were perfect for this card which I’ve made following the current sketch over at Digi Sketch.  I’ve even got the optional theme covered of ‘for men’ although this one is a little man.

I was going for a real water feel with the horizontal elements, I think the gesso and Smooch worked well for that, the Fran-tage, well, it adds a bit of sparkle to the card so I like it.  Being wet embossing I’m entering this in the current challenge at Creative Knockouts.

I seem to always need a reminder to use my scraps, it’s what I do whenever someone has a use your scraps theme going, which is exactly what Crafting When We Can has.  All the papers came out of my scrap drawer, even the card base was left over from a card I made last week.  Not sure if the embellies count, I hadn’t opened the packet before but they have been in my stash for a while so not bought new for this card.  The paints and powders were all from my stash too, almost at the bottom of the pot of the gesso and am working my way through my Fran-tage too.

There’s a whole lot more super cuties in this new Baby Teen Scene collection and the SBS DT have done amazing things with them which you can see over at the SBS blog.  This is my third card with them, you can find the first one here and the second one at this post, and if you pop back in five you’ll find another handsome young lad to admire.

…a very bright, very special woman

I have a shabbylicious card to share today featuring the simply gorgeous Perfect Curls Betty from the new Betty’s Boudoir collection at Simply B Stamps.

This beautiful image started out as a freebie on the Simply B Stamps’ Fan Page but was so popular and so fabulous that she had to have some friends and her own line and I couldn’t resist colouring her up.  Those lush curls and sexy dress brought to mind Julia Roberts in that red dress in Pretty Woman so that’s how I’ve coloured Betty up.

I’ve placed her on a decadently layered card following the latest sketch at Sketch N’ Dies.  The papers are from Authentique’s Audrey inspired Classique Elegant collection, the perfect match for Betty.  The original sketch only had the flower element but I just had to use my Marianne Designs’ Vintage Parasol die and I just had to shabby chic that up a bit with some Fran-tage.  And of course I had to have some lace.

I’ve followed the recipe over at Desert Island Crafters to do up my card, I’ve got a die cut, two actually, there’s also an oval Nestie hiding in the background, heat embossing with my Fran-tage and lots of lovely distressing.  I've got my digi and my flowers so I am also entering this card in the current challenge at Digi Galore.

With flowers that brighten as thy footstep falls...

I have a sweet card made with an equally sweet image, Persephone Lola, from Simply B Stamps’ Teen Scene Gods in Love collection.

This card is going to my cousin’s daughter for her 5th birthday, hence all the pink girlie details.  I followed the current sketch at Outlawz to make the card but I did swap out the heart elements for the butterfly and a simple rectangle.  I don’t know why I thought fussy cutting Persephone Lola was going to be a good idea but I did and therefore didn’t leave enough white space around her to frame her with my die cut rectangle.

Savvy Handmade Cards have a challenge to use your favourite item, I love my flowers, particularly the mulberry ones, and I also love my Fran-tage and both work really well for a girlie card.  And with my flowers I’m also entering this at Stampin for the Weekend’s current challenge.

I always think polka dots on a soft background is the perfect designer paper for a girlie card and the grosgrain ribbon with dots ties the foreground with the background of my card.  Spots and dots are also the current theme at Creative Knockouts so I’m entering my card in their challenge. I’ve also got numerous butterflies (what little girl doesn’t like chasing butterflies?) so am also linking this at Digi Galore for their wings’ challenge.
