Only you can cool my desire

It’s Wednesday so that means a new sketch at Outlawz and my card features the fabulous Lucy Loo Fire Dance from our awesome sponsor The East Wind.

And here’s this week’s sketch.

I’ve flipped the sketch on its side and used a slightly different shape for my main element, mostly because the Nestie I had in a closer shape was the wrong size for the image I already had coloured up.  I also added in an element to be able to add my sentiment, which is computer generated in a suitably flaming font.

I wanted to go with a real fiery theme on this card and the papers from CTMH I used were just perfect for that.  I needed to break up the yellow, red and orange a bit so I went with some brown, it has a subtle criss-cross pattern that is actually in yellow and orange.  The papers are from an old Halloween collection but fit with my fiery theme.  I’ve also had the ribbon for a while, it’s also from CTMH and worked well for the banner elements.  With my CTMH items and my fiery theme I am entering this in the current challenge at Heart 2 Heart.

I didn’t have any brads or buttons or charms to suit a fiery theme and when I found the cute heart charms (in the right colour) in my stash I got the idea for the sentiment.  Now the water tap charm doesn’t really make sense until you see the inside of the card where the sentiment continues.

As I have both charms and ribbon on my card I am entering this over at Charisma Cardz.  I’m also entering it at Fussy and Fancy as the sentiment really makes this card special.

Hopefully I’ve inspired you to come play along over at the Outlawz sketch challenge, we’d sure love to see what you create with this week’s sketch.

Let me tell you from my heart that life is better than death

It’s challenge time over at Outlawz Sketch again and our fabulous sponsor is The East Wind, today I’m featuring the image Lucy Loo Vampire Queen on my card.

And here’s this week’s sketch.

Now I couldn't make a card with a vampire queen on it and not go dark and a bit gothic.  The sketch was perfect for allowing me to use my blood splattered ribbon, ribbon just happens to be the theme over at The East Wind so I am entering my card in the challenge.

I’ve echoed the jewel on Lucy Loo’s forehead with some metal stampings from my stash and blinged them and Lucy up with some gems also from my stash.  It’s a bit hard to see the background paper but it is from Riddersholm Design and it was just the perfect slightly grungy dark background to this card.

The current theme over at A Step in the Dark is dark fantasy and I think a vampire queen fits that theme perfectly but in case it doesn’t I’m covered by the alternate theme of anything goes.  With my two circle die cuts I’m also entering this in the current challenge over at Southern Girls.

Sure hope you will come play along with this week’s sketch over at the Outlawz.
