In the spring becomes the rose

I’m sharing a card I’ve made for a colleague featuring the beautiful Rosarna from Colourbelle.

To keep the beautiful image the focal point I’ve gone with a CAS card and followed the current sketch over at CAS Colours & Sketches for my card design.  My image forms the largest circle of the bottom set of circular elements.

I wanted to add some interest while keeping this CAS and found inspiration in the current challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks.  My top circular elements are blingy rhinestones and, although a bit hard to tell in the photo, my sentiment and the roses are foiled.

Over at As You Like It they are asking what your favourite card fold or shape is.  That is too easy, just look over my blog posts and the overwhelming majority of my cards are 6x6” squares, love this shape and size.  Partly it’s because my favourite number is six, partly it’s because you get two cards out of a 12x12” sheet of cardstock, partly it’s because I love things to be symmetrical and partly it’s because I was first inspired to switch to 6x6” square cards by a crafty friend.  There is one thing I don’t like about a 6x6” card and that is Australia Post charges large letter size to post them, which is double the standard stamp cost!

Just a note on the image, the version I have used was purchased from Sweet Pea stamps before they sadly ceased to be.  The version Karen Middleton sells on her Etsy store, Colourbelle, is slightly different although just as beautiful.
