I’m sharing a
card today featuring Coffee Break from The Paper Shelter.
The layout of my
card follows the sketch over at Hand Stamped Sentiments. My sentiment is from Just a Number a retired Close
To My Heart set and you can tell it is hand stamped as it’s a bit wonky and not
evenly stamped ~ I’m the world’s worst stamper!
I wanted to keep
my card fairly CAS as the recipient is not a frilly and fancy kind of woman so I’ve
added some interest using the word prompt at Inkspirational. I took it literally and dipped my banner
elements in some paint. Tim Holtz
Distress Paint to be precise and they were too big to fit in the mouth of the
bottle and I didn’t want to decant so I pinched them a bit and then dipped but
that meant I ended up with some splodging and quite a distinct line on the
larger banner. I also dipped the smaller
ones in the same colour before thinking that would make them blend right into
the larger ones so they got a second dip in another colour.
At Shopping Our Stash
they are looking for stitching so I used dies with stitching to cut my image
and my banners. Bit hard to see the
stitch detail on the banners after they were dipped in paint. I highlighted the stitching on the circle
with a Distress Marker in the matching colour to my first dip of the banners.

This is so cute... the gal is adorable, and yet the card isn't overly feminine-- you met your goal! Stitching (faux and real) always adds a softness to a project, and her it yields a nice and relaxed "feel" which matches the image. Thank you for playing at SOS... see you soon!
