I have the
pleasure of being a guest DT over at Crafty Boots for their current ‘In the pink’
challenge and I’ve created a card using one of the stamps from Tim Holtz’s
Runway collection.
My mother commissioned me to make a birthday card for a colleague of hers who just happens to love pink, so very fitting! To make up my card I’ve followed sketch 224 from Sketch Saturday, being the fifth Saturday of the month you get to choose your sketch. This one worked a treat with the stamp I chose and allowed me to add just the right amount of pinky bling.
If I was a better stamper I’d have masked elements of the stamp to do them in pink ink but as I’m not that great I stuck with a black outline. Now normally I would have coloured up my image with my trusty Copics but Edna has gone all wishy washy lately and thrown out a watercolour challenge. So instead I pulled out my Distress Inks and did a spot of watercolouring of my image. I also added some Wink of Stella to the dress for some glittery bling, which moved the watercolours around a bit more but is really hard to see in the photo. Being a commissioned card I didn’t go snarky on it, hope Edna won’t mind too much.
I stamped the sentiment in a lovely shade of pink ink, from Dyan Reaveley’s range of Archival Ink. The stamp is from the retired Art Philosophy set from Close to My Heart. The current challenge over at Live and Love Crafts is also pink this month so I am linking up my card there. A great store for pinkalicious and general shabby chic goodies, which is sadly closing soon.

Thank you so much for being Crafty Boots Guest Designer and for making this gorgeous card. I love the shapes in this stamp, there is something very art deco about it. It is a great layout and I love all of the pinks you have managed to incorporated into your design.
