…looking up at our beautiful tree…

Sharing my final design for my bulk Christmas cards, this one featuring the lovely Flourishing Tree stamp from Penny Black.

I paid a visit to a friend yesterday who runs a craft store and she let me rummage through her box of yet to be listed items and when I saw this stamp, I knew it had to come home with me.  It was perfect for a super quick and CAS card, just what I needed to finish mine for the year.

Over at Christmas Card Throwndown they’re letting you pick a challenge from 2017.  I took the opportunity to find the perfect colour palette for my card, which I did with the January colours of cream, aqua and brown.  My cream is in the watercolour paper I’ve stamped my image onto.  I used brown and aqua ink to stamp and also matted the watercolour paper on aqua and brown paper.  I think it is a lovely colour combination and one I’d not have thought to do without the prompt of the palette.

As my card features a Christmas tree, I am entering it in the current challenge at Allsorts.  Being so totally CAS I’m also linking it up at Hiding in My Craft Room, where I’ve got the Christmas twist all wrapped up too!

…the spangles that sleep all the year in a dark box…

Sharing my third card design for my bulk Christmas cards, this one features the awesome background stamp that came in the Hero Arts’ November 2018 My Monthly Hero Kit.

The colours and feel of this card are inspired by the picture at The Card Concept.  I chose the pearl shimmer paper and silver embossing given the colours and the stamp features elegant Christmas decorations that also suit the image.  I also picked up the subtle and vintage red and green colours from the picture with my matting.

I chose to use glitter paper so I could play along at Southern Girls but it also fit the feel of this card.  My memory as a kid is of ornaments covered in glitter and getting all glittery when decorating the tree, soooo much fun for me, not so much fun for my Mum who had to clean it all up!

The layout of my card comes from Karren’s sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.  Rather than adding an embellie for the any shape element I used a Make it Crafty chippie to add in a Christmas sentiment.  As with my other card designs, I switched up the colours and, in this case, the chippies, to create 10 cards that are the same but not identical.

Brown paper packages tied up with strings

Sharing my second Christmas card design, which is super CAS and features stamps from the Hero Arts’ November 2018 My Monthly Hero Kit.

This card was totally inspired by the sketch over TGIF combined with the non-traditional Christmas colours prompt at Cardz 4 Galz.  I ended up with ‘My Favourite Things’ stuck in my head but I think the cards turned out pretty cute.

I made 10 in this design using Tim’s pinecones and snowflakes plus one of his Christmas Typed Tokens.  I then added a matching mini stamped image in each corner from the Hero Arts set.

As these cards are totally CAS, I’m also entering them in the current Christmas card challenge at CAS on Friday.
