“Hope” is the thing with feathers…

There are a couple of ladies on the Simply B Stamps’ Fan Page who are fighting cancer so a group of us are making cards to brighten their day and here is my first featuring Go Pink Betty.

I’ve done the card up in white and teal as they are the colours for cervical cancer, which Rachel sadly has and kept it fairly CAS.  CAS is the current theme at Crafting When We Can so I’m entering it in there.

I tried to do the butterflies on the teal paper in white but I didn’t have any other white ink pad handy other than my StazOn and I think it dried up so they are sparkly but not white and a bit hard to see.  They are, however, embossed so I am entering this in the current challenge at Time Out.

To jazz it up a bit I did add some extra sparkle and bling in the Sparklets, with those I have the twist for the Time Out challenge and also meet the theme for Fairytale Stampers' current challenge so am also entering my card there.  I swapped the sentiment element for my Sparklets as I used a Tim Holtz Word Band instead of a ribbon slide; I thought the sentiment was fitting.

…as it doth float up from the damnéd Earth

This is my first post as a DT for PunkyouGirl and I’ve done a CAS card inspired by Edgar Allan Poe, our current theme.

I was trying to make it look like the raven was ripping pages from the book but I got confused on which page I needed, I was going to do the order the other way round but realised my raven stamp faced the wrong way!  I was also going to have my image, Poe Portrait from Simply B Stamps, featured on the page still in the book being ripped but it was way too small printed so you couldn’t see it.  If that had worked I’d have had another image printed on the ripped out page that matched a Poe story.

So this hasn’t really turned out how I planned at all.  I did like the sketch at the Fusion challenge and I think it still worked well for the improvised version.  I also didn’t want this to be colourful or bright, it was meant to be dark and sombre so I’ve stuck to mostly black and white, my book pages are a bit yellowy but that’s because they are supposed to be old.  As this is mostly black and white I am entering it in the current challenge at Crafting When We Can.

Gazed through clear dew on the tender sky

Another Wednesday and another awesome sketch over at the Outlawz, which I’ve teamed with the Stargazer Lily image from this month’s fabbie sponsor, Oak Pond Creations.

And here’s this week’s sketch:

Yep, it’s not your traditional rectangle or square but one to really challenge.  I do quite like a round card, especially as it allows me to use my Nestie dies.  I’ve used a couple on this one to do the base and then my fancy circle on top for my easel.  As I have dies on this I am entering it in the current challenge at Come and Get It.

To colour up the beautiful image I’ve used my trusty Copics so I’m also entering this at Inkspirational’s current challenge.  I had to Google stargazer lilies, as I wasn’t sure what colour they were, and I was met with a profusion of gorgeously bright pink blooms, so that’s what I’ve coloured mine.  With the bright colours of my image I am also linking up my card at Crafting When We Can.

Hopefully I’ve inspired you to come play along over at the Outlawz, this sketch would look lovely with any manner of flowers, be they gorgeous images like the Stargazer Lily from Oak Pond I’ve used, or a whole mass of paper or fabric ones.  Whatever your style, we’d love to see what you create with the sketch.
