Love's fire heats water...

This is my final card featuring the gorgeous new Mermaid collection at Simply B Stamps, this was uses Corinne Mermaid and follows the required theme on the Simply B Fan Page challenge of glitter.

I decided I wanted to go with a real contrast on this card so I’ve coloured my image to be fire and placed it on my blue water background.  Fire just seemed to suit this image, not sure why, unless it has something to do with Corinne’s temper.  Did I just type that out aloud?!  Love how her tail turned out as well as how my first ever shaker card worked out.

To make up my sketch I have chosen an old sketch (#73) from Sketch N Stash, this one worked well as it had a large circle element.  I’ve got quite a few items on the card from the stash including my shaker elements and the paper flowers I used.

Cut It Up currently has an under the sea themed challenge going on and as I’ve got Mermaid Corinne underwater, well, at least glitter-water, and I’ve also got a die cut or six, so I am entering my card there.  Rather than the rectangle element I added a piece of lace, really lovely lace, a shame the circle I need to cut to fit my image for the shaker part is so big, it makes it hard to see that lush lace.  But as it is there, I am also entering my card over at the Alphabet Challenge.

Now hopefully this card has inspired you to come join the July Fan Page challenge.  If glitter isn’t your thing then you can always go for Sheri Mermaid and add some twine like I did on my earlier card found at this post.  Twine doesn’t do it for you either?  How about going for some embossing (wet or dry) and the lovely Bettina Mermaid like on my card seen here?  Need some more inspiration?  Check out the DT gals and what beauty they have created with these images by following the links at the bottom of the page.  Sure hope to see your project in the challenge.
