… the power of contemplation

Krista Smith of Saturated Canary is now selling her digis through Make It Crafty and I’ve got a card using one of her new images, Carlie with Giraffe (I used the version minus the giraffe), to share today.

Used the big ‘birthday’ chippie also from Make It Crafty as the focus of my design and sat the image on it.  To help decorate my card I’ve followed the current tic tac toe board at Crafty Card Makers going with the left diagonal.  I have a digi image, some pearls for embellies and to make my line I’ve die cut the ‘happy’.

The colour scheme of my card comes from the current palette at Color Throwdown.  It’s a lovely happy and bright one that worked well for a birthday card.  Pretty much stuck entirely to it except for a little skin tone, green and brown on the branch and red for her lips.  The multiple colours gave me a good excuse to go mat crazy so this is one heavy card, luckily it is being hand delivered.

As this is going out to a female friend and features a girl image I am also entering my card in the challenge at Watercooler Wednesday where the current theme is an anything goes feminine one.

  1. Hi Emily, what a perfect way to combine these challenges seamlessly. I love your card! It reminds me of one of my nieces just sitting in the woods, daydreaming about what treasure she might yet find. Love the colouring and the bold sentiment.
