Fresh Cups!

It’s challenge time at Simply Steampunk Challenges and our theme this month is You're invited!  Create a party invite or party announcement.  For mine I have used the fabulous new image, Mad Hatter, from the Alice in Wonderland Steampunk Style collection.

And a close up of the fabulous image.

I’ve cut my teacup easel card using my Cameo and a SVG from their store and Steampunked it up with some watch parts and Jolee’s Steampunk Flowers stickers.  It's a bit hard to see in the pic but the invitation text reads:

NO ROOM!  NO ROOM!
But, You’re invited anyway to
change places at the
Mad Hatter’s
for fresh cups.
With entertainment provided by
The Dormouse & March Hare Trio

Hopefully I've inspired you to do up your own party invitation so grab your favourite Steampunk image and come play along.

There’s an anything goes challenge at Twisted Tuesday and I’m linking my invitation there.  I’m also entering it in the anything goes challenge at Through the Craft Room Door.

Arr That be a Sticky Situation

Day 3 of the 13 Days of Halloween at Simply B Stamps threw up a difficult mid-week challenge of making a home décor piece but I think I’ve managed to meet that challenge and with not one but two images, Batty Jude and Captain Jude.

My home décor piece is a frame cut from the Happy Hauntings Cricut cartridge.  I’ve made it from Halloween colours, black and orange and added a sentiment with a dimensional sticker.  Batty Jude just looks like he’s caught in a web so he was perfect to go on the webby frame and then I needed an image to put in my frame to take the picture so I used Captain Jude.

As this project features three kinds of dimension, the frame is 3D (sort of, the cardstock I used isn't really thick), the sticker is dimensional and Batty Jude is foam dotted off the frame I’m entering it in the current challenge at Haunted Design House.  I’m also linking it at Through the Craftroom Door’s current anything goes challenge.

Keeping time, time, time…

In a sort of Runic rhyme
To the tintinnabulation that so musically wells
From the cogs, cogs, cogs

OK, so that’s not quite how Edgar Allan Poe’s verse goes but this is a Simply Steampunk Challenges' project and features lots of cogs but no bells.

It’s challenge time over Simply Steampunk Challenges and this month’s theme is clocks / timepieces.  So of course I needed to make an actual clock, my lounge room walls needed some Steampunking and how better than with this awesome image from Simply B Stamps, Rio Portrait, by artist Abigail Larson.

Head on over to Simply Steampunk Challenges and check out all the details – you have until 4 July to get your Steampunk on, don’t let time get away from you!
I’m also entering this into the Crazy Amigo Challenge's Distress inks or stains or pens or embossing powder challenge (I’ve got distress stain and embossing powder covered), Through the Craftroom Door's Anything goes challenge, Left of Center's LOC theme (Steampunk) challenge, and Crafting When We Can's Punches and/or die cuts challenge (loads of spider web die cuts used).
