Sharing a card featuring
a third stamp from the Cocktails Blueprint set from Tim Holtz.
This time I’m
playing over at Global Design Project where they want to see sunshine. So I’ve gone with vibrant colours and a very
summery cocktail complete with a slice of the sun, aka pineapple, and umbrella
to ward off those dangerous rays!
My layout follows
the sketch at The Paper Players, with my drink acting as the main focal shape. To do up my drink I stamped it on heat
resistant acetate and embossed in black.
I then coloured the shine on the glass with a Copic and added some white
reflection. On some water colour paper I
stamped another drink and coloured up the non-glass elements, which I then
paper pieced to the clear glass. I realised
too late I should have masked out the ‘rum’ in the centre of the glass given I had
to trim off the other blueprint elements as they were way too thin to fussy
cut.
Finished my card
off with another fab chippie from Make it Crafty. As I’ve kept the whole card CAS I am also
linking it up at Addicted to Stamps and More.
Am really having a ball with these cocktail stamps, might make up a card
with the last one in the set before the weekend is out.

Super fun card...I love that you stamped on the acetate, it makes the glass look so REAL! Yum! Thanks for sharing this with the Players this week!
ReplyDeleteCheers! This is such a fun card and I love that drink (on and off a card)! Thanks for playing over at The Paper Players this week!
ReplyDeleteYou've certainly created the sunshine for me - it's just like a drink I once had in a bar in Tahiti (except for rum on the glass). I'm most impressed by the way you've created the glass out of embossed acetate - I wondered how you got it looking so shiny and 3D. Thanks for joining us at The Paper Players this week.
ReplyDeleteSuch cheerful and energetic card! Love the colors and the layout too. Thank you for sharing your card with ATSM!
