Born to bring forth the angelic butterfly…

Sharing a baby card I was commissioned to make featuring the cute Elephant with Butterflies image from Lee H Illustrations.

The layout of my card comes from the current sketch at Cheerful Sketches.  Lots of lovely layers in this sketch to have fun with matting and a couple of Maja Design papers.  The card needed to be unisex so I’ve gone with mostly purple tones to play along at Just Us Girls.  Over at C.R.A.F.T. they are looking for projects celebrating the new, including babies so I am entering my card there too.

I matched the butterflies in the image with a couple of resin ones from my stash, which I doused in a bit of glitter for added interest.  The butterflies in the image are also glittery thanks to a coat of Spica glitter.   The chippies are also glittered, the pretty purple glitter was a gift from a crafty friend.

To colour the image I actually cracked open a tin of watercolour pencils another crafty friend gifted me.  Love the way the sky turned out especially using the pencils.
